It is has taken me more than 25 years of research of the Fowke surname (and its variations) to come to this conclusion but I now consider the connections of the Fowke-Brasseur (or whatever spellings you may have) line to be very, very suspect. Although many people have copied the information, none so far as I can ascertain, have any acceptable evidence to prove the connections. That in itself, does not prove that the information is quite wrong, but it does suggest that someone, somewhere, has been very remiss in providing some specific caution as to the possible inaccuracy of the data. That could have been on purpose, but I tend to think that inexperience is more likely.
If you have a 'Brazier' connection, no problem, but some persons have even tried to match that surname
with 'Brashier, Brasseur, etc, etc! No, I don't think so!
So, if you have some irrefutable material that puts me 'in my place' as a demon for conjecture, please speak up now. This so-called family connection is driving many of us crazy!
If you would be interested in my connections of the Thoroughgood (and some variety of spellings) connections to the Fowke line, make contact. I believe my information is 98% correct, not less than 2% as some web sites appear to me.
Ray Fowke (New Zealand).
