I am the son of Martha Fowle, she was the daughter of Arthur Herbert Fowle, one of the sons of William H. Fowle, 1840-1903. He had five sons and a daughter. I am assuming you are descended from one of the other sons. Arthur Herbert was William Fowle's commanding officer in the WBTS.
Mother used to keep up with Maima Armstrong who lived in Knoxville, she had a daughter Cornelia whom I met once in Atlanta in the early 60's. William Fowle's father was also William Fowle, he had a brother George who had a daughter Ellen Bernard Fowle who married Fitzhugh Lee. Ellen's great grandson, Fitzhugh Opie lives here in Ponte Vedra Beach near me and we have exchanged family information.
