Yes, I am. Thank you for your response. I am the great granddaughter of Charles Vernon Fowles (1855) born in Ithaca, NY and his first wife, Isabella Hess. I have some information on his parents, George Fowles and Elizabeth Crick, but I am still missing a lot of pieces to the puzzle. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for Richard Fowles born in 1830 died in 1891 and is buried in West Newton, PA. He married a woman named Sarah and they had six children. I am looking for their daughter Mary Alice (who went by Alice). She married George Mansberry (Mansbury). I know for awhile she lived in Dixmont Mental Hospital near Pittsburgh, PA.

The Fowles I'm interested in are my Great Grandmother's first husband's (William Henry b.1892) family.
In 1901 census his father is listed as:
William H Fowles b.c1865 Croydon, Surrey.
(Father & son are both William Henry Fowles).

The family lived in Tooting (Wandsworth) London.

Any connection to yours? I am interested in any descendants of this family (& of course any ancestors will not be rejected!)

Joseph Fowles born in 1797 had a son named Gardner. Gardner had Frank H. Frank H had Frank H (II), Frank H (II) had Frank H (III), Frank H had Frank L, (Frank H III was prosecuting John Doe the twelfth is the story) Frank L had Benjamin L (Me).

If it's the same George Fowles from "Descendants of George Fowle" book published in 1990, then I am a descendant. The book is out of print and in limited availability but will give you info into the mid 1800's.

I am looking for any clues as to the ancestors of my Great-Grandfather, Ernest Leonard Douglas Fowles, apparently born in Lewisham, London, in March 1897 (?). i also have written down he was born in 1901 and in Chesire... However i think the first source is more realistic. i cannot find any census records, only WW1 records.
Any ideas and info will be much appriciated.

James son of Will’m FOWLS of Witton, Overseer (of John & Mary Fowls of Witton) and Kitty (dtr of John & Ruth Tarbuck of Witton). Born 20 FEB 1821. Bap 11 MAR 1821.

Does anyone have any information about him?
In 1851 census he is described as a tailor and is married to a Christiana Jane Bristow. According to the marriage cert, his father was Henry Bristow, a bootmaker, but who was his mother and what were the parents doing in France just after the battle of Waterloo?

I found your entry by accident, a bit late.
I have a William H who I believe is one of my lot.
William H (Henry or Harry) Born 1871 in Croydon the son of
Alfred and Sarah SEAL.
Do you have your Great Grandmother's maiden name.
The Fowles were a bit keen on "William" I have six generations where the first son was William.
Most of my info. is from the IGI and the 1881 census.I also had some help from an English Genealogist.
My earliest known is William Fowles born abt 1775 and the marriage certificate of my Great Great Grandparents in 1823.
Would love to know more of your lot and maybe find a link.
