Hello, I was reading your post and wondered if your family has always been in Maryland? I am looking for information on one Pillow Fowlkes who was a slave of the Fowlkes family. The original Fowlkes ancestor, Gabriel Fowlkes,was born in Wales, 1696, died 1775 in Amelia, VA. Pillow lived in Dyersburg, Tennessee but I suspect he lived in other states before that. On a slave schedule I found the name of the slave owner, William Parkham Fowlkes. If you have any information on how your family came to Maryland, I'd be more than happy to hear about your ancestry.
