DOD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Sgt. Dillon B. Foxx, 22, of Traverse City, Mich., died Feb. 5 in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Earl (Dick) Foxx, 81, of Greencastle died Saturday, October 29, 2005, at the Heart Center Of Indiana, Indianapolis, IN.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Foxx; sons, Rodney Foxx (Sandy) Crawfordsville, IN; David Foxx (LaVennia), Greencastle, IN; brothers, Russell Foxx, (Jean), Merle Foxx (Betty), both of Greencastle, IN; Carl Fox (Juanita), Portage, IN; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, IN. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2005 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. at the funeral home

John Foxx, 91, left this life to be with his beloved Nora, Friday April 12, 2002. He was the oldest of ten children born to George Sr, and Anna Stang Fox. Born in Jazodnjah, Russia on December 19, 1910 he came to the U.S. by way of Nova Scotia. He was one of the elite group of Volga district Russians who lived on the west side of Oshkosh. On November 5, 1942 Johnny married Eleanor "Nora" Seibold. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2000. Johnny is survived by two loving daughters; Toni (Jon) Thompson, Kalamazoo Mi, Lenore (Jeff) Bernardy, Oshkosh, seven grandchildren; Kevin Kalupa, Lisa (Marc) Ruetten, Molly Davis, Anna, Kristina, Katie Nigl, Sara Bernardy, four great grandchildren; Samantha, Bryan, Kimberly, Gerianne, two brothers; Arnold Fox, Woodruff, WI., Vernon (Joyce) Fox, Oshkosh, two sisters; Marie (Vern) Cartwright, Cerella Elmer, and one sister-in-law Jane Fox, all of Oshkosh. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Johnny was preceded in death by three brothers; George Jr., Oliver, Edward, one sister; Esther, and an infant sister.

Caroline and Raymond mooved to New Jersey where both worked for a printing plant called Art Color in Dunellen, N.J.

Hi - Just spotted your quest; Myron was my dad's oldest brother. Myron, Larry, Ethel, and Ken lived in the Finger Lakes area. Ken is now 86 - still remembers very fondly that Myron would protect him whenever he got into mischief as a boy.

I am looking for my Aunt and her family. My Grandfather was William Benjamin (Edgar) Wallace he was from the Salt LAke city area. His parents who were killed while crossing a bridge, the buggy fell off the bridge. They had two children William my Grandfather and his sister believe her name was Agnes not sure. They were both adopted by Wallace. They didn't like living with the Wallaces. They ran away to Illinois. Were William married Etta Strang. We believe Agnes married a Fox.

This is a man that was born in Abt 1870, London. He married Lousia Brown from Walthomstow in 1890, then went to Canada for the goldrush in 1899. Upon thier return to the UK in 1901 the family broke up and George was never seen again. Some elders say that he drowned on a sinking ship on a return voyage to Canada. Whilst together the couple had four children, but several years later Lousia appeared with two others.
Any information on either of these individuals would be grateful and very helpful.

Dear Foxx Family -

I have a friend, Jenny Foxx, that I have not seen in some time. I'm wondering if I might get information on her situation from this message board...I've tried other options with no luck. She lived in Sacramento when I last spoke with her. Her folks lived (or live?) in a small mining town above Sacramento, somewhere. I visited them once -
Jenny was a dental receptionist and I think that she D.J.ed for a Sact. radio station for a time ( 1985-1987? ). Her family is of the Christian faith.

I would love to catch-up with her - please help.

Amy I found the notes I told you about. As I talked to my sister I wrote them down in short form my dad was Robert L had a brother Wesley. The sister who was dying of cancer was Golda Landen I think of Vestal, NY. Robert had been living in Orlando Florida back in 1992. My sister mentioned a Leona Fox. Buddy Mckay of Urichsville, Ohio was doing the research 310 e. 5th street.

I have a little story from my gg-aunt about the foxx side in my family. I don't know how true it is. It might give you somewhere to look. She says that The foxx come from England and were full blooded Jews. She talk about a young man braking away from the family to marry an English girl(Rice). Both familys were every well to do and both family settled in Hagerstown, Maryland. I am in from Indiana and have trast back to OH.
