Hello Eileen,

It's been a while since I last posted information about my Fraher line. I've learned a couple of small tidbits of information and wanted post the information in case this new information lines up with any other Frahers out there.

My Patrick Fraher married Sarah Hayes in about 1852. Sarah's last name was previously unknown. They had two children born in Ireland, moved to England in about 1856 and two children born there and then immigrated to the US in about 1860.

They moved to upstate New York and were in Port Henry, New York during the 1865 New York State Census. There's some evidence that my Patrick Fraher joined the Union Regular Army in 1861, but was discharged for a disability before 90 days. Per the Army papers, this Patrick Fraher was from Waterford County, Ireland. If this is indeed my Patrick then the county of Origin is new information for me.

My Fraher line moved to or through Holyoke, Massachusetts in about 1867 and moved to New Britain, Connecticut prior to 1870.

If you have any information or thoughts on how I could confirm the county of origin to be Waterford, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

Regards, Jim
