Hello again Jackie

I just decided to take a wee look at Scotland's People for your John Frame's death registration. Luck was with me...got him first go! He was the son of Thomas Frame and Margaret Roughead and born in Dalserf 7 Sep 1818. He died suddenly in Airdrie 1 Jan 1887. (GROS Death Ref: 651/01 0003). His son-in-law George Cowie was the informant.

Thomas Frame was born c1777 in Dalserf. He was the beadle and sexton of the Kirk for many years and died 16 May 1867. He married Margaret Roughead (many variations of her name!) 24 Sep 1814 in Dalserf. I have 7 children for them. Thomas had previously been married to Elisabeth Stuart/Stewart with whom he had 5 children.

Thomas Frame was the son of James Frame (c1741-44) and Catherine Cordiner of Dalserf.

If you email me privately at: jdf4072@gmail.com I will send you the copy John Frame's death registration.

Kindest regards
Julie
NSW Aust

*Not sure if this message will appear twice...apologies to all if it does. I replied via the email setup as well...so not sure what will happen! ;-D

Hello Jackie

I am sorry I have nothing back beyond John Frame and Rachel Somers. The children I have recorded are:
Margaret (8 Apr 1847 - Dalserf)
Rachel (23 Jan 1849 - Dalserf)
Jane (c1851);  Janet (c1854); Marion (c1856); Helen (c1859);
and Thomas (c1862) - these latter children all born in Airdrie but living in New Monkland according to the 1871 census.

Sorry I cannot help with your line, Jackie, but keep at it and happy hunting!

Kindest regards
Julie

I am just starting the Frame branch of my family and was wondering if you have come across Helen Carmichael Frame born 1859 in New Monkland Lanarkshire married to George Muir Cowie? Her parents were John Frame born abt 1818 in Dalserf and Rachel Winning or Somers born Dalserf. Rachel's surname is Winning on Helen's death certificate but Somers on Helen' marriage certificate! Any help furthering my research would be welcome.

Regards

Jackie

Flossie was my grandfather's sister. My grandfather was Augustus George Frame. I have a copy of the Braxton County historical society's publication of Decendents of Andrew Frame. Andrew came from Scotland in 1683 to Amesbury, MA. If you will give me a postal address, I'll send a copy to you.

Hello Gail

Nice to talk to you. I have a Janet Linn Frame in my database, but the details are different to those you've mentioned here. I do not use Genes Reunited but if you like to email me privately, I may be able to help. The Janet Linn Frame family that I have in my database is reprsented as the group Frame B in the Frame DNA Project. My line is one of those in Frame A. You are welcome to email me at jfalk@bigpond.net.au and I will be happy to see I have anything that might correlate with your information.

Kindest regards
Julie

I, too, have Frame relatives from Dalserf:

My gggrandmothrer was Janet Linn Frame b 1842, her father was David Frame b 1817, his father was David Frame b 1780, his father was James Frame b 1741, his father was James Frame b 1718 and I believe his father was Archibald Frame.

I would be grateful to be allowed to see your family tree. Mine is accessible via genesreunited if you want to contact me through that website I can let you see it.

Gail
Hello Keith

I have many Lanarkshire Frames in my database (especially Larkhall/Dalserf/Hamilton), a private Frame Family general genealogy forum at My Family.com for which I will be happy to issue an invitation if you wish, and I also admin the Frame DNA Project - so one way or another I may be able to help. If you email me privately at jfalk AT bigpond.net.au with some further detail on your great-grandfather William (dates - spouse etc), with a little luck I may already have him recorded. Always happy to help if I can.

Kindest regards
Julie

Julie,

I have just started taking an interest in my ancestory, and your name caught my eye because you seem to be asking questions about Frames from Lanarkshire.

Born in 1975 in Lanark, I come from a line of Larkhall Frames - William James Frame (dad), William Frame (granddad), William Frame (great grand father).

Is there a family tree on ancestory that I can link into? Or how would you be able to best help me make some progress as I start to go back any further than the early 1900s?

Keith

Seeking info on Flossie G Frame, daughter of Mary E. Frame and unknown father. Flossie was born c 1900 in (I'm guessing here) WV...possibly Braxton County. Flossie, age 17, married Eddie Stump age 20 on 6 May 1917 in Braxton Co., WV (Bride's Home). Flossie was listed as 6/12 in the 1900 Braxton Co US Federal Census. The 1910 Census has her in Braxton Co,WV along with the following household members:
FRAME, Mary E 54
Evert 27
Othy 23
Augustus 19
Ellar D. 16
*Flossie G. 10

The Census doesn't give the sex of anyone on this post making it difficult to detrmine if Othy and Ellar D. were mmale or female.

In the 1920 Census Flossie is living in Braxton Co., WV with her spouse Eddie J Stump.

In the 1930 Census, I find a Mary Frame bc 1854 living in Gurnsey, OH.
My grandfather was John Frame
I was told he came from Scotland and left a family over there.
He met my grandmother here in Windsor, ON, Canada and had 2 sons. He died when my father, Robert Frame was 2 or 4 (so in 1963 or 1965 I believe). I don't know anything else really except my dad received a phone call once regarding more family in Scotland and he's too stubborn to believe it. I however, want to know more!
Frame Family

I am looking for information on my grandfather, Clarence Frame. Lived in Bedford MO, Mother was Ethel, Father worked for post office, but I don't know his name. He died in 1974 in Des Moines, Iowa. He had a sister named Ollie and a brother named Omara. Bellew was his aunt on his father's side. He also had cousins named Jim and Jeff Ballew. His aunt on his mother's side was Georgia Stephens, married to Fred. He had at least 2 children, my uncle, Ivan and my Mother, Doris who are both deceased. He was married but divorced from my grandmother Pearl Newman. Any information any one can give me would be most appreciated. Thanks. Clella Schurman Haddock

FRAME DNA PROJECT - Update & Special Offer
Hello Everyone

The FRAME DNA PROJECT website has recently been updated at:

http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/frame/home

Currently, participants in the Y-DNA study are from the USA, Canada, England, Scotland, New Zealand and Australia. Until September 30, 2008, our testing company is offering very generous discounts to new members for both Y-DNA and mtDNA tests. For those contemplating using DNA to discover ancient origins, previously unknown cousin families, and to better focus traditional genealogy, this is an ideal time to do it. The special offer may be accessed by clicking on the blue “Sizzling Summer Sale” link at the top of the page, or via the “Order” or “Join Project” links on the grey Project menu bar. Whilst our testing company always provides a discount to Project members, the very generous additional reductions and free offers are only available for a very limited time and will expire on September 30th.

Even if you miss the special rates, you are still welcome to join the FRAME DNA PROJECT at any time. The following surnames are currently eligible for participation:

DE FRAINE, DE FRAMÉ, DE FRAMERY, DE FREYNE, DU FRANE, DU FRESNE, DUFRANE, DUFRESNE, FRAEME, FRAENA, FRAHAM, FRAHM, FRAIM, FRAIME, FRAIN, FRAM, FRAME, FRAMEN, FRAMERY, FRAMINGHAM, FRAMLINGHAM, FRAMPTON, FRAMSDEN, FRANE, FRANEY, FRAYM, FRAYN, FRAYNE, FREAM, FREAME, FREAN, FREEN, FREENEY, FREHAM, FREHAMTON, FREM, FREMAN, FREME, FREMEN, FRENEY, FRENNE, FRESNAY, FRESNE, FRESNEL, FRESNOY, FREYME, FREYNE, FROAM, FROM, FROME, FROMM

The FRAME DNA PROJECT is open to all of these listed families in all of their surname variations and from all locations.

If your surname variant is not included and you believe it should be, please contact the Project Administrator:

Julie Frame Falk
jfalk@bigpond.net.au

I know your inquiry is rather old, but if you are still interested I have some very interesting anecdotal matter on W.B. "Scotty" Frame, Esq. of Butte, Montana. I also have a copy of the "W.B. Scotty Frame Collection" from the K. Ross Toole Archives, Mansfield Library, University of Montana. This is a very interesting account entitled "Forewarned of Death" telling of forest fire fighting in Montana and the death of a young man. Very interesting in light of Scotty's reputation as a medium and spiritualist. I am very interested in obtaining any other information anyone has concerning Mr. Frame.

On the back ,( Hard to read,) MMe Mae Bonetti, a contralto of note, recently arrived from Klertof-de-Sales. Mme Bonnetti sang frequently for the BOYD/BOYS? ___/ ___/ ( last part cut off).

Perhaps singing for the soldier boys in 1917??

Mystery John Frame and Maggie Brounlee from Hamilton Sco

My g-g-g-grandfather William Frame's death certificate states his parents were John Frame and Maggie Brounlee (or Brownlie, or Brounlie). Williams wife was Isabella Kerr (sometimes spelled Kier). Through most of the census records Williams states he was from Hamilton, Lanark born around 1831. I have not been able to find positive records of John Frame and Margaret Brounlie. There are some church records admonishing more then one Brounlee woman around 1831 for "fornication", sin etc... so maybe William was illegitamate. Does anyone have any information on this family? It's a real mystery. By 1851 William was living on his own in New Kilpatrick. In the early 20th century most of his descendants lived in Clydebank after which I have no more records. My own g-grandfather emigrated to Canada in 1913 with his wife and children.
