Looking for missing information as to the family of Leopold Franck and Elizabeth Devlin and their descendants. Below is the information I have been able to research to date (relationships are to my mother Joan Flanagan):

Mine are originally from Alsace as far back as I can prove.
Probably related to Southern Germany and Switzerland too.

Do you have any information on the Franks that could possibly be Rheinfrank. I have the names a both Rheinfrank and Frank/Franck also from Hassloch. Wendel and Phillipina and dau. Anna Barbara and Margaretha came to the St. Clair / Monroe Co area. MILAN, Ill. - Martha M. Franck, 77, of Milan, Ill., died on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, Ill. Services will be conducted at Edgington Presbyterian Church in Edgington, Ill. An Order of Eastern Star Service will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Visitation will be at Family Funeral Services in Reynolds, Ill., which is in charge of funeral arrangements. Burial will take place at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials should go to the church. Mrs. Franck was born on Dec. 20, 1922, in Drury Township, Ill., the daughter of Chauncey and Alice K. Marston McGinnis. She married Elmer William Franck on Dec. 27, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1988. She farmed with her husband near Reynolds until 1970. Also, she was a secretary for Jaydon Inc. in Milan for 20 years. She was a member of Edgington Presbyterian Church Women's Association, Andalusia Order of Eastern Star Chapter 617 and Reynolds American Legion Auxiliary Post 1166. She played euchre and bingo at Langman Apartments, where she lived. She was very active with her grandchildren and their activities. She enjoyed watching softball and was a Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan. She is survived by one daughter Barbara Freyermuth and her husband Kim of Illinois City, Ill., one son Steven Franck and his wife Janine of Rockford, Ill., and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Freeman McGinnis.

Thank you for your reply, however, I only have information on Joseph. I have been unable to connect him to parents, but variant spellings of the name is a big factor in that.

I'm hoping that perhaps I can connect with someone researching the NJ FRANCKs who can fill in the gap.

There are a lot of FRANCKs around.
If you knew where yours came from in Europe it would be a great help.
Mine came from Alsace Lorraine in 1581 and I have been unsuccessful in getting back any more.

I have a great great great...... grandmother named Hulda Von Frank (1858-1932 born in Germany and immigrated to New Jersey) who married a Gustav Mueller. I am not sure if who you are looking for and Hulda Von Frank are related because she is as far back as my family tree goes on my mothers side. THERE IS SOME SIMILARITY WITH MY TREE AND VERBAL HISTORY OF MY FAMILY. THE FRANCK BROS.(5 OF THEM) CAME TO THE US FROM "BADEN" (GERMANY) AROUND 1843. THE ONLY REFERENCE CITY EVER MENTIONED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THERE ARRIVAL IS ST. LOUIS. ONE OF THE FIVE BROS IS SAID TO HAVE BEEN HENRY.
THE OTHER FOUR ARE CHARLES, J, ADOLPH(MY ANCESTER), AND ONE UNKNOWN(POSSIBLY GEORGE). MY HENRY APPEARS ON THE CALIFORNIA 1860 CENSUS AGED 26. COULD THIS BE THE SAME HENRY AS YOURS? THANKS, LAUREL

WWII Sailor-Leon Henry Franck

I'm looking for relatives of Leon Henry Franck. He was a sailor during WWII and listed his hometown as Flushing, NY. He was aboard the sub, the USS GRUNION when it went missing in July, 1942. The families were not notified for several months.

They were declared dead Aug.2, 1943. 70 men died aboard this submarine and until recently nothing was known concerning their fate.

Now a search for the submarine is being conducted by the son's of Commander Mannert and I have joined the search for relatives of these dead sailors so we can share this exciting news. Any tips or leads will be greatly appreciated....Thank you

I believe my gggrandfather and his two brothers came to PA in the early 1700's. They are Johannes, David, and Andreas FRANK (FRANCK). I have them with their father who is listed as just Mr FRANK. Johannes married Susann Catherine NEIGHBOUR. David married Maria Louisa HORNETTA. Andreas married Margaretha (unknown). I live in France and I seek ancestors FRANK/FRANCK left Germany or France for Pennsylvania about 1856 :
Jacob Frank (tailor in 1900), born in May 1834 in Bavaria, Germany, married with Philepina (born in November 1833 in Germany). They had four children born in Pennsylvania : Mary C. (1856), Caroline (1859), Frederick (1862) and Jacob (1867). They were listed at Mahanoy, Schuylkill in 1910, 1920 and 1930.

Trying to find any descendants of Sarah K. DOUGHTY m. ____ FRANCK. Sarah is a daughter of Benjamin B. DOUGHTY and Elizabeth S. CRANMER. She lived in Philadelphia and was living in Baltimore in 1897. Had at least one daughter Minnie FRANCK/FRANK and one son Joseph FRANCK b. 1877 d. 1924.

Sarah K. and son Joseph are buried in Batsto/Pleasant Mills United Methodist Cemetery, Batsto, Burlington Co., NJ. Minnie is buried in Harleigh Cemetery in Haddonfield, Camden Co., NJ. Minnie died as a young woman and her only child died at age 2.

Any information is appreciated.

In doing research on my own Franck line I did find some info - you may already have it -
Leopold wed Elizabeth and had the following children per 1900 census (birth dates approx)
Mattie 1877
Josephine April 9, 1879
Henry 1881
Rosa 1885

Josephine died Nov 1972 per Obituary in Le Mars Iowa Daily Sentinel
she had married Adrian Anderson Nov 27, 1907(deceased) and had a daughter Florence (living in 1972)
Her parents, sone, 8 sisters and a brother preceeded her in death.

Henry 1881 wed Margaret 1887
and they had the following children per 1920 census
Marion (son) 1907
Clifford 1909
Charlotte 1910
Vivian Oct 25, 1911
Lowell 1913
Elaine 1914
Leo 1915
Marie 1916
Helen 1918
Dale 1920

Then per Le Mars Iowa Daily Sentinel March 1972
Obituary for Vivian she was survided by 2 daughters, son, mother, 4 brothers - Clifford, Leo, Dale, Henry and 2 sisters - Mrs. Marie Peterson and Mrs. Floyd Moore and several grandchildren

I'm research the Franck family of Craven NC. In 1783, Katherine Franck married David Dunn. There are several deed and court records in that area for the Franck surname that may connect.

I posted the wrong name previously. Adolph Oscar Franck (1876-1961) lived in St Louis, part of the time the Spanish Lake area. His father was Jacob Franck, I believe from Prussia. He lived in Nachville, IL. Please contact if anyone has any info.

GARY A COFFEY

Gary Arthur Coffey, 50, a resident of the Tigard community, died Aug 24, 2007.

A celebration of Gary's life was Aug 30 at the Fuiten, Rose Hoyt Funeral Home in Forest Grove, with Pastor Skip Heiney of the Dayspring Christian Fellowship in Banks, Officiating. Private internment will be held.

Gary was born Oct 25, 1956, in Tillamook, the son of Loyd Coffey and Virginia (Hervey) Coffey. He was raised and received his education in the Tillamook Community. He was a 1974 graduate of Tillamook High School.

He united in marriage to Delores D Franck, Sep 11, 1982, at the First Christian Church in Forest Grove. Gary and Delores were happily married for 23 years and made their home and family in Hood River and later Banks. Gary and Delores later divorced.

Gary worked for several years for Les Schwab Tire Company. For the past 15 yers, he had been a truck driver for Alpenrose Dairy in Portland. He was an active member of the Dayspring Christian Fellowship in Banks. Gary also served for four years on the Banks City Council.

Among his interests, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved the outdoors. He loved gardening, especially raising tomatoes and fuschias. He was meticulous when it came to taking care of his yard.

He was proceeded in death by his parents.

Gary is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Katherine D and Owen Gibson of Yuma, AZ; a son and daughter-in-law, David A and Wendy Coffey of Banks; extended son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Heidi Duggan of Forest Grove; two brothers and sister-in-law, Scott and Pam Coffey of Albany, and James Vessey of Portland; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Bob Anderson of Sacramento, CA; Kathy and Dave Rannings of Hamilton, MT; and Sherri Gallino of Dallas; and his former wife, Delores D Coffey of Hillsboro.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Hunter Arthur Coffey, Cailey Lynn Coffey, Hayden Duggan and Cohen Duggan; and several nieces and nephews.

Hi Gail, I posted this on the FRANCK mailing list but wanted to make sure you read it. Andrew Frank is listed below and the marriage dates of his daughters seem to go with the birth dates you have (marrying age). Names don't quite match up though. I also have an Andrew Frank on Halifax tax list by 1825, I began by looking at the 1800 taxes for Halifax.

HUDSON, Fla. -- Willard J. Franck, 87, of Hudson, Fla., died Monday, March 1, 2004, at his residence.

Mr. Franck was born on April 22, 1916, in Waterville, Maine, to Edward and Elise (Dionne) Franck. He grew up in Skowhegan. He was employed as parts manger for Friend Motor Sales in Skowhegan, Maine. He moved to Florida from Skowhegan 22 years ago, and has been a resident of Florida ever since.

Mr. Franck was a Signal Corps Veteran. He was stationed in Newfoundland as a radio operator. He was a member of the Eagles of Hudson and St. Michael's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, of Hudson; one brother, Lester Franck and wife, Helen, of Auburn, Maine; one sister, Loretta Champagne of Winslow, Maine.

I'm not sure if this will help. My gr-gr-grandmother Maria Catherina Franck came to Monroe Co., Illinois (across the river from St. Louis) in the 1840s. I'm not sure who she came with. My Great Great Grandfather was Johannes (Franck) Frank and he had two brothers David and Andrew (Andreas) we think all were born in PA. He was Married to Susanna Catherine Frank (Neighbour) with 5 sons Abraham b. 1793, John b. 1795, George b. 1799, Daniel b. 1801 and David b. 1805. David was my Great Grandfather. I don't know who were Johannes parents? Could they be the family you are inquiring about?
