My greatgrandfather was William Thompson (or Thomas) Frankeberger. Born April, 1817 in Ohio, married 1853? died between 1900-1910 and in buried near Orla, Laclede county MO in the old Fairview cemetery. His wife was Mary Eliz.(Frazier or Frazer) He had a brother John. I think W.T. taught school. I am trying to find a death date so I can buy a stone. Have you run across any of these names? W.T. also lived in Pleasanton and Ft. Scott, KS.
Hi Dan! So happy to read your reply. We definitely have a connection. Since 2001 when I first posted, I've been able to trace my Van Camps back to 1612. You are also correct that my branch of the family use the original Frankeberger spelling. Joseph and Sarah Jane are my 2nd great grandparents also. I would like very much to share information with you and will be email you directly.

My Frankenberger came from Pennsylvania in the early 1700. I have just found all this info out the past few months. I am researching the Frankenbergers aka Frankeberger aka Franckeberger. Several different spellings, same family. My ancesters settled in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and then my greatgrand parents Jesse Frankeberger settled in Webb City, Jasper Co. Mo. My grand parent Clarence H. Frankenberger settled in Kansas City, Mo. Jackson Co. where he lived and died. Grankdmother Agnes Griep Frankenberger then moved to California, Los Angeles Co.

Does any of this ring a bell.
