Hi Rae! I have your mother in my database - but her name is Elinor - with no other information. I have her sisters, louise and Jacqueline, also. Your mother would be my 3rd cousin 4 times removed.

There are several people I know of working on the Frankhouser line. It's a big, old family with lots of names.

I looked at it, and the last name looks like Billy. The handwriting isn;t that bad for the indexer to be so far off on that last name - or could it be I am just used to reading it as Frankhouser! Sheeez!

Have you looked at the 1930 Census? It contains several households in Seattle. What names are you searching? or can you give me approximate ages? There are Other Frankhousers in Washington, but not the city of Seattle.

Sarah Frankhouser.......

....was married to Levi Schmucker on October 11, 1860. She was born August 28, 1843 and died May 17, 1928. I believe they lived most of their married lives in Pennsylvania or Illinois. Their son, John Frankhouser Schmucker, was my g-grandfather. Does anyone have any information on this Amish Mennonite lady? Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much. Billy makes good sense. I couldn't see it until you mentioned it, as I thought the dot for the I in Billy was a crossing of the T in Betty or that the name was Rethy. (This enumerator's B and R look identical, as I tried comparing the B in this name with the R in Ruth and I could see no difference). Thanks again.

William, Columbus & Leonard Frankhouser

I am looking for any information on a William Frankhouser (may be Fankhouser or other variations) who married Mathilda Mary Carlile about 1875, maybe in Ringgold Co., Iowa, but they could have married in Kansas. I believe William was from Virginia, born about 1850, and Mathilda was born about 1856 in Iowa.

They may have had several children, but the only two known to me are Columbus Frankhouser, born about 1877 and Leonard Frankhouser, born about 1879; both boys born in Kansas.

I found a note in records from a deceased relative to contact Imogene Crebs Helpingsten, PO Box 248, Ranger, Texas for info on this family, but believe the address is no longer valid. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Frankhouser Search

Hi, Anybody:

I am seeking to trace the ancestry of the Elmer V. Frankhouser family line back to, I presume, Germany. However, an elderly relative indicaed to me that in the 19th century, the name might have been changed from Funkhouser.

My mother was Eleanore Ada Frankhouser, daughter of Elmer V. and Ada Withers Frankhouser. Elmer was the son of Charles Frankhouser and the brother of Arthur Frankhouser of Louisville, KY. The Frankhousers I knew lived in West Virginia (Fairmount and Parkersburg) and Newport, DE. If any of these names sound familiar, please get in touch with me. Thank you.

Rae P.
