Looking for My Father or His family

My birth name is Tammy Elaine Frantz I was born 4-6-70 and my mothers name when she was married to my father was Marilyn Joyce Frantz. I have 4 older brothers by different fathers. When they married it was about 1968 or 1969 they wasn't married for very long. I met my Grandpa when I was about 5 and his name was Jessie Frantz. He lived in Oklahoma City I believe. I know my dad has serveral brothers and sisters who live in Oklahoma. My dads name is Dick Frantz. I know the marriage ended badly between my mother and dad. My mother refuses to give me any information on my dad and family so I don't have a lot of information on him. I know this is a long shot but I would just like to have the chance to get to know my other family I never knew. What I do remember is My grandfather Jessie Frantz built his own house in Oklahoma and his wife died not too long before I was born. He remarried another woman with the same name as his first wife. I know this is like a shot in the dark but if anyone has any information at all it would be greatly appreciated.
Tammy (Frantz) Eaton
I just need to know the truth about my dad and what he is really like. I have never met him but I would love to.

Walter Frantz, Vinton Co. Ohio murder/suicide

Hello,

I just learned of a terrible tragic situation that I would like more information about.
It seems that Walter Frantz, Vinton Co. (Zaleski) Ohio, murdered my grandfather Elmer H. Reeves sister: Goldie Ruth Peters (her married name) then killed himself.
Goldie and her husband owned a store around the area of Vinton Co. Ohio.
The story is that Walter was in love with Goldie, and she denied his advances, and walked into the store, shot her and returned outside and shot himself. My mother remembers fire being involved. She said that the police took her to the crime location. Any one that might know anything about this event please email me directly.
Goldie is listed in the 1920 Census as 18 yrs old, and living in Columbus, Ohio with her brother Elmer. She must have returned to her birth area...thats all I can figure.

Thanks,
Tina Levitt

POW/MIA Korean War, FRANTZ

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Mariona County, Indiana as his home of record. His remains were never recovered.

Soldier: GEORGE ARTHUR FRANTZ
Born: November 5, 1930, Caucasian
Date of loss: July 11, 1950, POW

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. The Frantz family is one of those missing.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
SUSAN/SUZANNE FRANTZ - CENTRE CO. PA

I am searching for information on my GG Grandmother, Susan (Suzanne) Frantz. Very little is known of her because she died by the time my G Grandmother was 8 years old. I know that she was from the Worth township area and was probably born in the early 1880's. Around 1900-1903 she married August Flood (Fladt). Other than that, the only other information I have is that she had a brother named Reuben Frantz. He lived in a hollow around Port Matilda/Tyrone - (Worth Twp?) in the 1940's. My grandfather remembers the name Belle - possibly his wife or Belle Hollow?

There is a line of Frantz's Samuel b. 5 Feb 1846 father of Reuben b. 1874 that I think is a good possibility to be Susan's family. A son Pius is listed as being born in 1880 - is there any possibility there was another daughter born a year or two later?

If anyone has any information or possible leads, your help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! I have been stuck on this for years and am ready to find an answer.

Thanks!
Amanda Golden

Margret/Margaret FRANTZ WILMOT, b. Jan 1823, PA

Searching for information I recently received showing my 2nd greatgrandmother's maiden name as "FRANTZ (of Isaac)". This new info was contained in a Civil War pension file for her son, Samuel WILMOT, who died in 1864. Peach Tree Creek, GA.

According to the file Margaret was born 6 Jan 1823, PA [county Unknown], and married Richard WILMOT, 14 June 1845, Leechburg, Armstrong Co., PA by justice of the peace, Alexander Gordon.

Second source of verification for Margaret's maiden name comes from a PA death certificate, for her daughter Martha nee WILMOT STITT, dated, 1943, that clearly gives her mother's maiden name as FRANTZ.

If anyone has data they could share regarding this family, as to who Margaret's parents and siblings were, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Frantz (Lebanon County)

Hello Frantz Relatives: I would like to communicate with anyone who is searching for the surname FRANTZ. The FRANTZ are from Lebanon County, Londonderry Township. My great great grandfather John Frantz was born 2/16/53. He was married to Agnes (Backenstose)Frantz. John parents were John Frantz and Annie (Heft) Frantz. These are the ones I need information on. I know Annie Frantz got married to Levi Hess around 1857. There is a possibility John died around 1854. Annie Frantz is buried next to her oldest son Adam Frantz at Ebenezer Cemetery in Lebanon, PA. Thank you.

Lois V. Frantz, of Tacoma/Seattle, born ca 1902, dau of Minnie L. and sister of Edna B. Frantz

I have an original studio photograph of Lois V. Frantz "daughter of Minnie L. Frantz and sister of Edna", which I would like to get back in the hands of family members. The photo also says Lois is "in a rest home in Seattle 1984". The 1930 census for Tacoma (Pierce Co.) WA shows the identical information as on the photo, along with Lois's age (28), Minnie's age (widow, age 60), and Edna's age (30).

If you are related to this family, email me at margerice@prodigy.net.

Richard Frantz & Ella Judd

I am looking for info on a Richard Frantz who married an Ella Judd (daughter of Samuel Judd an Betty Burge) when she was 15 (about 1947 or 1948) and they had three children (two girls and a boy). The first born was named Betty Catherine Frantz (b: 1948 d: at 10 months of age from pneumonia). I was the second born, born 12 July 1950 in LaPorte, Indiana) and was named Richard Arlen Frantz. The third born was my younger sister Catherine Jane Frantz (b: 27 January 1952 in Urbana, Ohio d: 5 April 1984 in Rock Island, Illinois {buried in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Illinois}). In August 1953 my younger sister and I were adopted in Urbana, Ohio by William E. Lewis and Dorothy Jeane (Parker) Lewis. After our adoption, my sister was renamed Catherine Arlene Lewis and I was renamed Richard Stanton Lewis. I am in fact searching for more info on my biological parents for my tree as well as for myself personally. If you have further info that you would care to share, I would appreciate it a lot. I have over 3,000 names in my tree (posted here on Roots Web "Lewisr50") but not much on the Frantz line. I have spoken with at least one Judd that has been to Samuel's and Betty's graves (parents of Ella) but they didn't know anything about Ella. By my calculations, Ella and Richard would be about 70 and 75 now, so still not out of the realm of possibilities that they could still be very much alive --- might be neat to actually talk to them or perhaps meet them.

Looking for info on Catherine (b. @1833), Anna Maria (b. @1835), and Ann Orilla (b. @1838) Frantz, presumably all born in New York State, the daughters of Elias and Mercy Rhuama "Mary" Barnum Frantz. Elias died @1840, and Mercy remarried Rev. John Crapsey. They had one son: Angelo M. born December 8, 1842. Mercy died of typhoid fever March 3, 1852.

To be honest, it is Angelo Crapsey that interests me, not his half sisters, but they may be a path to reach him. Angelo was a Civil War veteran and a prolific writer. It is virtually certain that he wrote them letters.

Alexander Frantz, 6/4/1840

Hello, I've been able to only trace back 3 generations to my 2nd great-grandfather Alexander (or is that four?) born . He was married to Elizabeth (unknown maiden name) and had at least one son, Edward born 11/19/1868. He was married to Lucy Ann Bailey born in 2/4/1870 in Glen Rock, York Co., PA. One of their sons (5 other siblings) was my Grandpa Irvin Ellsworth Frantz born in York Haven, PA. He married Ruth Ellen Mark of Bellegrove, PA.

I have a copy of the "Matthias Frantz Family of Berks County" book published in 1972, second edition in 1976. Which has some wonderful history and information in it, but apparently Matthias had two brothers. Since I'm not in this book, we must be just kin.
I'm just getting started, but it seems easier to trace back through the women than the men. Why is that, or is that just unique to my close family?
