Frasier Family History

I am looking for any information on James F. Frazer who married Dorcas Mullen in Abbeville Co. S.C. abt.1794. Dorcas was the daughter of Patrick and Barbara Mullen. Their children were Sarah Ann, girl#1, Eliza,Joseph P., Patrick Mullens,Robert, girl#2,and John Bain Frazer.

I am also looking for information on Martha Jane Wood (b. 1846 in Arkansas). She was the daughter of Elijah Wood and Nancy (Coker) Wood. Martha first married Reubin S. Maynard abt. 1862 in Marion County, Arkansas. They had one son Nicholas Joel Maynard. Reubin S. was the son of Reubin Maynard and Mary (Wood?) Maynard. Reubin died in Jan. of 1865 in Alton Military Prison where he was held as a POW. In 1869 Martha took Nicholas Joel and married Patrick Taylor Frazier. They lived in Blythe Township in Marion Co., Arkansas. Martha also had a brother (James Wood) who
married Patrick Taylor's sister, Nancy James Frazier.

I would very much appreciate hearing from anybody who has any information on these family members. You may feel free to email me as well as post your answers.

MY grgrandfather, James Rolston bn, 1834 and his Sister, Sarah Jane Rolston bn abt 1840 were born in Blackwatertown, County Armagh .
They emigrated to Ontario, Canada around 1849. They both name their parents as James and Ann Rolston.
I've just returned from Ireland and spent time in Blackwatertown {charming farming community}. Also visited The Church of Ireland just minutes away in Confeacle, County Tyrone.
I believe it's possible that your Sarah Rolston was the elder sister to Sarah Jane and James. There were several siblings in the Family.
I'm seeking the maiden name of their Mother, Ann Rolston.
Do you have the marriage document of Sarah and Joseph Frazer and if so, does it state the maiden name of
Sarah's Mother?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Christine Boules

Lamond: Lemon: Fraser: Frazer : Frager

seeking a connection mid-1800's between Annie Lamond/Lemon and Robert Fraser (b. 1832 Scotland.)

Mr. Fraser retired from the military while posted in Lower Canada and settled eventually somewhere in Ontario. He and Annie had 7 children: Donald, Margaret, Catherine, Christina, Hugh, Mary & John. They were Roman Catholic and Mary apparently became a nun (anyone who might know where to research that, please let me know.) Prior 1890, Robert took Catherine & Christina back to Scotland to live. I can find no record of a marriage or the births or what happened to Annie. I am also not sure if Annie was the birth mother of Donald and Catherine,(due to time frames) however she did raise them.

On Catherine' marriage & Robert's death certificate's Annie's maiden name is Lamond. On Christina's death certificate, Annie's maiden name is Lemon. Annie was supposedly from Ontario, but Donald was born in NB, Margaret & Christina in N.S., Hugh in Quebec and the others in Ontario. Donald was my grandfather.

Considering borders were not clearly defined till later in the 1800's, there is a chance the births and marriage occurred in what is now the USA.

Name variations on documentations are Lamond: Lemon: Fraser: Frazer : Frager

James Frazer 1758-1798 VA in Revolutionary War?

The Frazer-Baker bible of Lucy Strahan Frazer (1870-1960) says of James Frazer "James Frazer, was Captain of Light Horse in Revolutionary War. His horse, "Rainbow", was shot from under him at Cowpens. He was at Cornwallis' surrender.
He married first Sarah Herndon (no issue) second Sarah Kenyon Thomas, a granddaughter of Sir Robert Carter.
They had three children. The third wife was Lucy Smith".
Marriages appear to be accurate. Anyone know of substantiation for revolutionary war claim?
Gr Grandparents LESTER FRAZER and MARY KATHRYN FRAZER

My grandfather was William Frazer. He died before I was 3 and spoke little about his family to his children. The stories that all agree on is that Lester and Mary Kathryn came from Cork County and Claire County Ireland. Lester had a traveling Circus here in the states. My Gr Grandmother, Mary Kathryn died giving birth to my Grandfater William in Farmersville Ohio June 1908. We think William had 2 older brothers and 1 older sister -Kate. Kate is known to start a chicken ranch in San Diego county California. I have a copy of my grandfathers Social Security Application that list Lester Clayton Frazer as his father and LaDonna Beatrice Sawtelle as his mother, but my Aunt and Mother think that was his step-mother. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Frazer's in Stokes County NC 1800 Census

Does anyone know anything about Robert Frazer, Samuel Frazer, and William Frazer in the 1800 census of Stokes County NC? I believe the Robert may be Robert Thompson Frazer b. 1758 (possibly in MD) and moved to NC. If so, he would be a descendent of John B. Frazier and Mary Falconer. All three of these Frazer's are 26-44 and all have small children, so they could very well be brothers. Robert and Samuel live about 6 doors apart. William is about 5 pages over in the census.

I am looking for the parents of my ggg grandfather, Samuel Carroll Fraser, born in Stokes, NC in 1789. I thought that possibly one of these Frazer's might be my Samuel's father. Any information would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have recently become active in our family geneology again. I posted an extensive family tree 4 years ago that was based on my grandfather's research in nashville. I was always told there was a connection to George Washington, 1st president of the US, as well as Gen. Robert E. Lee. Now I have found the proper connections after visiting the Lee chapel in Lexington VA and several other sites. If any one is interested in the tree connecting the 2 families I can try to get it to them. I can not adjust what is posted because of changed emails and what not.

I am looking for any information for Lt. John Frazer (SC 4th Artillery) who was killed at the Battle of Beaufort Feb 9, 1779.
He married Martha Milligan ca 1770, they had one son, John Milligan Frazer ca 1771 in Charleston,SC. My research has not provided anything on either John Frazer or Martha Milligan from 1779 on. Martha Milligan may have been a sister, cousin, daughter, to Capt Jacob Milligan, who served in the South Carolina Continental Navy, and was the Charleston Harbor Master after the end of the Revolotionary War.

Lt John Frazer is my 6th ggrandfather, and I would like to know when and where he and Martha Milligan married, where he is buried (possibly where he fell, somewhere around St Helena Church) and what happened to Martha after his death.

I would appreciate any information anyone can provide.

Barb Brown Hootman

I have a photo of Austin Ray Frazer, taken in about 1903, which I would like to get back to family members. Austin is about 2 in the photo, and the 1930 census shows him to be the son of James A. and Anna (Leader) Frazer of Philadelphia, PA. The SSDI shows he was born Nov 1901 and died in LA, CA in Oct 2000. Email me if you are related to this family - margerice@prodigy.net.

Robert Frazer (all variations) E Coast?>MT>Canada

Seeking info about Robert\Thomas FRAZER (all spellings) who was an early trader at Fort Benton, MT in the 1860's. He married a Native woman and had 4 daughters and 1 son. One dau., Susie died at Fort Benton. One dau and the son were sent back east for their education and were never heard from again. The other 2 dau. lived and died in MT. Robert also had another Native wife and family in Canada. Robert\Thomas was of Scottish ancestry, called "Frenchy" and from the east coast. His surname could be any one of the variations. This is all I know about him at the present time.
Thomas - b. 1772 VA - m. Polly Crist

Thomas FRAZER/FRAZIER was b. 1 Jun 1772 in Augusta Co, Virginia. He married Mary "Polly" CRIST/CHRIST on 7 Dec 1797. At some point they moved to Greenbrier Co, VA (now WVA). They had 9 children between 1798 and 1814: Elizabeth, John, Eliza, Hester ("Hetty"), Mary, Frances ("Fanny"), Nancy Jane, Alexander and Attalina.

"Fanny" FRAZER/FRAZIER was born 1805 and married William FISHER on 17 Nov 1826 in Greenbrier Co. I am trying to prove (or disprove) that Fanny married "MY" William Fisher. If so: they had a daughter - Susan Ann Fisher, born October 1827 in Wood Co, VA (now WVA), and probably a son after that. Susan ended up in Missouri - don't know if her parents did, as well.

Does anyone have any leads on this FRAZER/FRAZIER line and specifically about Fanny Frazier and William Fisher?

Many thanks,
India Penney
