I'm trying to find any info on a Stephen Frechette, his family, and his wife's family. All I have is an 1880 census from Indiana. Stephen was born about 1847, birthplace listed as Canada. He was married to Philena, no maiden name on her. She was born about 1852, birthplace listed as Vermont.

They had 5 children, Mary, Allice, Mattie, Oscor, and Cora. In 1880 they lived in Hanna, LA Porte, Indiana. I assume Stephen came into the US from Canada, to Vermont or somewhere in that area, met and married Philena here. I can find no records for either in Vermont or Canada.

There are two spellings on the census, Freschette/Frechette. And Alice is spelled with two l's in 1880, but later with one (l). Stephen's occupation is listed as Shoemaker.
