Update on Freda Family from Cellole
Still looking for the Freda family from Cellole, Casserta, Italy.
My great-grandfather was Tommaso Freda, he married Addolorata Martone (from Cervinara, Avellino, Italy).
Tommaso was born in Sessa Aurunca on January 1, 1884 (officially) but my grandmother and her brothers and sisters dispute it as December 21, 1883 (his Atto di Nascita might have been filed after the new year, hence he is listed as January 1, 1884). He came to America on Aug 20, 1907 according to ellisislandrecords.org (listed as Tomaso Freda). He moved to Jersey City, NJ and then New York City, NY after getting married on July 21, 1918.
Tommaso is known to have one brother Agostino Freda (a.k.a. Uncle Auggie and Gus Freda). Agostino was born Aug 18, 1892 and came to America May 20, 1909 and also settled in Jersey City, NJ and remained there.
When Tommaso and Agostino moved to the US, they stayed with brothers Giacomo and Antonio, respectively. However, no one in my grandmother's generation knows of these brothers.
There is one known sister, Antoniatta, who did not come to the US. She married Giuseppe Montecuollo. This information come from several letters my grandmother recieved in 1981.
There might be another brother, Luigi, which not much is known except I have breif contact with one of his decendents who has the same name as one of Agostino's children.
Tommaso's father was Carlo Freda. His mother was Giuseppa Bove. Carlo was born Oct 20, 1858 in Cerano, Casesrta, Italy. Giuseppa Bove's parents were Tommaso Bove and Lucia (last name might be Mirante).
Carlo's father was Nunzio Freda born around 1815. Nunzio married Giovanna Sogente who was born around 1818. And finally, Nunzio's father was Antonio Freda.
Looking to share and exchange information with anyone who might be related to the Freda family.
