Fredenburg Bassett Phillips

Hi Cyndee, this is my well documented lines. The Fredenburgs family came on the Oregon Trail in 1864 and settled mostly in So. Oregon around Medford.

Happy to share with you as we are still looking for more on the Bassett and Phillips lines and their ties with other surnames such as Van Dusen.

I just found this the other day. Havala was married to my GGGG aunt Elizabeth Ferguson before he married Desi. The first marriage was in 1834. I have found that Havala was born in 1809 in the US and was United Bretheren. He married Desire Turner? on Oct. 4 1846, and the witness was one of my uncles (Harvey Purdy) who was married to my aunt Harriet Ferguson.

I also have an Uncle Jack Fredenburg. My Grandfather is a Fredenburg and lives in Lewis County, NY. According to him the Fredenburgs came from Germany in the 1650's.

Although none of my Fredenburg relatives (my mother was a Fredenburg) that I know of now live permanently in northern NY, my uncle Jack has a summer home in Adams. Until we were dispersed throughout the US, my Fredenburg relatives came from/lived in the North Country (Goveneuer and Adams primarily). My grandfather, Eugene, married a Putnam and then, sometime following the death of my grandmother in the great flu epidemic of 1918, a Love. I am interested to know from which European country came the US Fredenburgs.

Anthony Fredenburg (1816-1881) of Michigan and Hannah Fox had 11 children between 1839 and 1858): Charlotte, Amanda, Abram, Sylvester, Rachael, Benjamin, Alonzo, George Cady, Lurinda, William, Isabella. In Michigan (Genesee County), Alonzo (b 1849) and wife (Helen Josephine Haight b 1855) had 5 children: Maria I, Daniel B., Emeline (b. 1879), Mae (my grandmother; not listed in census records) and Watlie. I just found some Fredenburgs from Indiana that married into both my Bassett line as well as my Phillips line. They moved to Oregon some of them.

FARMINGTON TIMES, Farmington, St. Francois County, Missouri, Thursday, January 23, 1913

LEADWOOD MAN DIES WHILE EATING DINNER

Wm. Fredenberg of Leadwood, while at dinner last Tuesday, was taken with a choking spell, and before he could be assisted to the door, was dead. It is not known whether he strangled on a piece of food or died of heart trouble, as no post mortem examination was held at the inquest. The verdict of the jury was death from unknown cause. He was 42 years old and leaves a mother, brother and sister in New York State. Below is the death certificate for Wm.

Yes, we do have a fair amount of information about that family. We have also recently connected with another family member (listed here as Hynes42) and we are both descendants of Hiram and Anna/Annie's children. I am a g.g.granddaughter of their son, Henry, and Hynes42 is a descendant of their daughter, Matilda. Hello - I am descended from a Tobias Fredenburg (b.1804) and Lydia Livingston (b.1806) who were both born in the US but emigrated to Canada (specifically Peterborough, Ontario) in approx. the late 1820's or very early 1830's. We don't know for sure where they came from in the US but NY is a pretty likely possibility. How far back are you able to trace your Fredenburgs in NY?

I have been researching the family of Hiram Fredenburg(bc 1831) son of Tobias Fredenburg (bc. 1804 Upper Canada) and Lydia Livingstone (bc. 1806 USA). Hiram married Annie Weaver, a sister of my g.g. grandfather John Emery Weaver. The Fredenburg family were next door neighbours of my Weaver family in the 1851 Census of Murray Township, Northumberland County, Ontario. Both Fredenburg and Weaver families later moved to Smith Township, Peterborough County, Ontario. Have you researched this family branch?

As I mentioned in a previous post, our Fredenburgs originally entered Canada in the mid 1800's (I think 1830-ish) and settled in the Peterborough, Ontario area. We have traced back to a Tobias Fredenburg (b.1804) and Lydia Livingston (b.1806), and their sons, Hiram (b.1831), John (b.1836), James (b.1837), and Elijah (b.1840). I was married to Harvey Fredenburg Jr., son of Harvey Sr & Florence. Have been doing some research. Harvey was son of Egbert and Adeline Freer Fredenburg of Ulster County, N.Y. Would be happy to share what I know.

My Fredenburgs came from Germany to New York to Minnesota to North Dakota to Canada to Minnesota to Oregon and more. Most settled in the Alexandia area and Northfield area of Minnesota but quite a few passed directly through Montana several times. Email me a little more data so we can check for common names and dates. Some moved to California so Montana is a distinct possibility too.

I am lokking for information about Jens Hansen Fredensborg. He vas born in Denmark in 1842 in a small town called Løgumkloster. I have been told he went to Illinois in 1872. My (ex) Step-father is a Fredenburg. He originally came from Bournemouth,England.

His name is Bernard ( or Bernie ) he also has a brother Ernie.

As far as I know they are both a live and in their 70's.

Gees it was hard to get ahold of you! I am your cousin Sandy...My grandmother was Grace Viola Fredenburg b.10 Dec 1909 sister to Edgar Dwight b. 04 Apr 1904( she was # 11 of 15).

I have been in contact with Grandma Linnie's Side of the family. I am still looking for George Orlo's (Sr) parents, do you have any info on them? Even though I have them as Havala FRADENBURGH and Dessie Lumar, I cannot find them in any census records. MIchigan, Canada, PA or New York.!!!

Anyone have information on this Edward David Fredenburg . I am at a loss only the WWI draft reg in Wilmington Delaware 1918 listed him as peddler (no place of birth was asked in form).natural born
Also a daughter Dorothy Mae Fredenburg was born 1916 in Hamilton Ohio where I believe Myrtle Van Brunt was also born. Dorothy appeared in Florida early 30's and lived the rest of her life there.
no record that I can find in census 1920 or 1930.

Hello everyone, Sorry it took me forever to get back to up date this. My Grandmother's - (Myrtle (Robb) Waller) second husband was John Darwin Fredenberg. I never met any of his family so have no info to share other than what I know of John and my grandmother. I have just this week been in contact with SandyK. She has a post on here also.

I am from southern Ontario and my mother's family were Fredenburgs. We can actually trace back quite a few generations in Canada and I would be willing to share info with you if you would like. We start with a Tobias Fredenburg who came to Ontario (we think from New York but cannot confirm so far) in the mid 1800's (we have the year but I would have to check it). We think that he came with a brother(?) named Haviler.
