I saw your comments on rootsweb.com (dated 15 May 2001) saying that Louis Frederic De St Ferol was your Gr. Gr. Grandfather. He is also my Great grandfather...must be on a different branch of the tree. Paul Armand Frederic was my grandfather. I am Edgar H. Frederic, Jr. i hope this reaches you, but e-mail addresses can change several times in a 7 year period.

I have compiled a six page biographical sketch on Philippe Frederic of Grand Bayou and his offspring. This Philippe was born 20 October 1787 at Natchitoches Post in Louisiana and died after 1865 at Grand Bayou, which is located approximately thirty miles above Natchitoches in present southeastern Red River Parish. The report is fairly well documented and includes references.

Hi there I'm trying to find some information about my grandad who was born in Mauritius. His name was Luc Franc Andre Frederic sometimes appears as Andre Frederic. He was born on the 26th October 1923 in Centre de Flacq. Later on he came over to the UK and married my Nan in 1953, I'm not sure when he came over to the UK though.

I'm not quite sure where to start looking really. Any help would be great,

I've hit a dead end on one side of my family which is my grandad. He came to this country from Mauritius, I'm not sure which year he came here though.

I've searched his name and found an entry for his death and marriage. Also something came up that looks like him on the Burke's Commoners of Great Britain and Ireland that I can't look at because I don't have membership -

My dad is William(Shelly) Reynolds. You live across the street from my Uncle Marc and Aunt Kathy Firth. My dad lives over in Gautier. My Mawmaw Reynolds lived over on Woodhaven until her death in March 2006. I believe that my Uncle Jon and Aunt Ericka are still living in her house trying to get their's rebuilt after Katrina took it. It sure is a small world. I use to live over on Paul Harvey when my parents were still married. I went to Eastlawn Elem. where my Aunt Sandra Kay(Morgan) use to teach before she retired.

With the information you provide, it would seem that your father is Marc Reynolds, who lives on Singing River Street in Pascagoula. If this is so, I live across the street from him.

Hi! My grandmother is Edna Margaret(Margie) Frederic. Her father was Hermes A Frederic who must have been Hermina's brother. His father was Washington Frederic and his mother was Sarah P Williams. He married Mary Terreson(Nanny). Along with my grandmother they also had two other daughters, Mary Emily and Laverne. I know they had at least one brother but have no other info on him. I never met Hermes because he died 6 months before my grandmother was born. My grandmother married WA Reynolds and had five children, Marc, Sandra Kay, William M. and Jon Kevin. They all still live in Pascagoula. My grandmother passed Mar. of 2006 at 81. My name is Kimberly Anne Reynolds Haydon. I am married to Brandon Haydon and we have 2 children, Dylan Scott and Shelby Daniele. I also have a son from a previous marriage, Bradley Dwayne Peterson. I hope that helps to fill in a little of the history on this side. If you would like, I can try and get more info from my dad. I am also a decendent of the Frederics who came from Alsace-Lorraine to Louisiana and then to St. Louis, Mo. I have not been working on my Frederic line for some time, been working on my Father's line. The only input I can give you is the St. Louis, MO line. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your brother. It truly is a tragedy to lose someone at such a young age. Words seem so very hollow but please know my thoughts are with you and your family.
It was good to see a reponse on my Frederic posting. Apparently, I am confused - I thought your family descended from John Frederic, not Joseph. "Word of mouth" information passed on through the generations in my family was the brothers Joseph and John founded Frederic Printing, but they split up and John became sole owner of the company. I will check some material - 1880 & 1900 census's - pictures and records from Mt. Olivet Cemetary in Denver and forward the info to you if you're interested. In a sense, Joseph Frederic was my name sake; My given name is Frederic Joseph. If you prefer, we can communicate by email. I find it somewhat easier to use than web sites. Joseph Frederic is also my great grandfather. I am the grandaughter of Homer Frederic(his son) and the daughter of John Frederic. I stumbled upon this page by accident while looking for my brother,Scott Frederic's obituary,he died this month at the age of 32 after a long battle with cancer.

Well, obviously I don't proof-read my own postings. My grandfather's name was Francis Frederic, Sr., not Frances, and he was Aunt Fanny's brother, not his sister. Wow!

Hello Jennifer:
I am the grandson of Frances Frederic, Sr., sister of Aunt Fanny and youngest child of Washington Frederic (who died on May 6, 1903). Grandpa also had a brother named Washington Frederic (who was known simply as "Wash").

I met Aunt Fanny at my oldest sister's wedding in 1973. She would have been about 87 at the time, and she was small and frail, as I recall. I was about 9 or 10 at the time.

My grandmother, Audrey Frederic, knew her well and really liked her a lot. I know one a couple of her children, and talk to one of her grandsons on occasion.

My father is the last Frederic to have the "de St. Ferol" on his birth certificate. When he joined the US Navy in 1951, he had to have some people here in Pascagoula verify his name (to the Defense Dept. or the Dept.of the Navy, or whatever) because all of his other papers only had "Frederic" on them. However, the "de St. Ferol" by this time was AFTER the Frederic, not before.

Thank you very much for all of the information. I really appreciate the level of detail you shared with me. My great-grandmother was Washington's 2nd oldest daughter, Frances (aka Fanny or Mum and later married Edmond Jane'). I was 4 years old at her 90th birthday party, so I don't remember too much! I do remember that her cake was huge!

I do not have a Washington among L.A.d St. F. Frederic's offspring -- neither by his wife of record, nor by the persons of African descent both free and unfree who were part of his home and family. What reliable records or primary sources have you depended on for your info?
