Christian Fredrich (sp?)

My family surname is spelled Fredrich, however I've seen older family records spelling it Frederich and Frederick, so it could be off...

I have 4 generations back to August C Fredrich b.19 Dec 1862 in Germany and d. Dec 1942 in Osage County, Missouri.

I know his father was Christian Fredrich (this is where the spelling gets changed). He married Maria C Fedder. That is all the information I have on them.

Looking for any help or clues to follow the lineage back further.

I don't have any family connections to the name Boelk that I'm aware of, but there are several of my gr-gr-grandmother's siblings that I have been unable to track down. I seen the name Boelk /Bölk often in going through Kr. Greifenberg records. Have you looked in the Hoff Church records for your gr-grandfather's baptism? In They are available through the LDS from about 1807-1874. Please contact me at: sweaneyd@aol.com and we can continue this discussion. These are the surnames that I am aware of that I connect to in Pommern, all in Kr. Greifenberg and Kr. Cammin.

Researching: Voigt-Miller-Fredrich-Panzlaff-Gaulke in Kr. Greifenberg
Associated Names: Behl-Beyersdorf-Broitzmann-Duwe-Erdmann-Gauger-Halbroeder-Klöhn-Koepsell-Laatsch-Marron-Ohm-Polzin-Segebarth-Voeltz-Zimdars
I believe that we have family connection in Hoff and Rewahl, Kreis Greifenberg. My great-grandfather, Julius Boelk was born in Rewahl and most likely baptized in Hoff as it was the church that was the closest.
I have some Fredrich, Erdmann and Gaulke names in my files, have you any Boelks?
Thanks.

I'm trying to attach a file that will give more detail, if you don't receive it, please contact me.

I have FREDRICH ancestry going back to Kazmierowo and nearby villages for which I have done much research. However my famililes settled in Merrill Lincoln county Wisconsin and later in Milwaukee. My Grandfather Herman Fredrich came to USA from Debenke kreis Wirsitz in 1890. Though I dont find a direct connection to my Fredrichs I have many notes from many films that I have looked at and copied from those church records whenever I came across a Fredrich. My notes go back to the early 1800s.
I vaguely remember finding a Friedrich Fredrich so I will go through my notes to look for him and I will get back to you .

My Frederick family is likely from that area. In America, the name has been spelled Frederick, Fredrick and Fradrich. The farthest back I can go is to Ludwig Fradrich, immigrated with his wife, Lousa, in 1872. Family included Karl Fradrich (likely a brother to Ludwig), Ferdinand Huebner, Frederick Huebner (Huebners were sons of Louisa, from previous marriage), Carl Fradrich (son) and Bertha Fradrich (daughter). Family settled in La Crescent, Minnesota. Any ties, please contact me.

Fredrichs of Debenke/Kazmierowo, Posen, Prussia, Germany

I found the LDS Microfilm 234298 had numerous FREDRICH listings for
the Protestant Church in Debenke, Prussia -- 1863 to about the 1880's.
I was able to find a birth record for my Great Grandfather, Herman
FREDRICH (spelled FREDRICH after immigration), and a marriage
record for his parents, Friedrich FREDRICH and Justine BOERGER.

I wrote up a little page at http://www.tefredrick.com/genealogy/FREDRICK_Herman/ with some
information about Herman FREDRICH (b. 23 Apr 1876) who immigrated
to Holyoke, Carlton County, Minnesota in 1902. I also have a family
group sheet at
http://www.tefredrick.com/genealogy/family/grpf013.html (that URL may
change, so see the index at http://www.tefredrick.com/genealogy/family/grpmain.html if the URL
doesn't work for you).

I believe Herman's father, Friedrich Fredrich was from Kazmierowo,
but haven't yet located records from Kazmierowo which would help.
From maps it appears that Kazmierowo and Debenke are both small towns, not terribly far from each other in the Kreis Wirsitz "county" of
the Posen Province of Prussia.

Does anyone know of a source for a detailed 19th century map of
this region that might show these small towns?

Any other Fredrich descendants from the Debenke/Kazmierowo region?

Thanks, --Tim Fredrick (fredrick@ucar.edu)
