Dear Folks:
I occasionally find online family trees with incorrect Frederick (various spellings) information and attempt to help (to the extent of my ability and information). However, some quite irrationally maintain that their sites are correct, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. One such site is on Ancestry.com. I just hope it is not also on Rootsweb.com. It is the Jackson/Hoy Family Tree:
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/7506565/family?cfpid=-1043958...All that you find in this genealogy with respect to the Frederick family (various spellings) before the marriage of Moses Jackson and Martha Ann Frederick is a fabrication. Actually, it is a quilt of unrelated records, stitched together to make a genealogy someone apparently wanted to have notwithstanding the facts.
While the Frederick (Fedric) family of Person County, North Carolina can be difficult, this person reached out to totally unrelated families to create a fictitious ancestry.
Thus, you are warned.
Best regards,
Rick
