Nancy I am from the James and Mary Freebury line. Do you have information or pictures on this side of the family? I do have some information but would like to find some pictures. I know that James and Mary lived in Iowa and they had I think 3 or 4 children. One of the children was my grandmother Izie Opal. She married a Hoeft.

My grandmother was a Freebury ( Izie Opal Freebury)she married a Hoeft. She was born in Niles,Iowa. Her mom and dad was Fred Ernest and Amanda Jane ( Tharp) Freebury.
There were 4 Children from James and Mary Freebury, William H, George Edward, Fred Ernest ( my ggranddad) and Phoebe. Phoebe died young. I have tried to find out more about James' parents. I heard that James and a brother came to America and changed their last name, in England it was Salibury and they changed it so they didn't have to go back to England.One brother went west and the other stayed in Iowa. I don't know if this is true.

Still looking for the mother and father of James and Mary Freebury. Mary was a Hill.
I'm from Fred's side of the Family. Fred was my Great Great Granddad.

Hi my grandmother was a Freebury. James and Mary Freebury were her grandparents. Her father was Frederick E. Freebury. He had two brothers and One sister. Some of the names are written in grandmother's Bible. I'm looking for some pictures of her and the Freebury family. Fred's brother's were, William H. b. April 1852 in Ontario, George Edward b. Mar 1854 Germany, the sister was Phoebe Evangeline b. 1862 in Floyd, Iowa died when she was 26 abt 1888.

I have found a George E. Freebury in my grandmothers Bible.
The information I have is as followed:
George Edward Freebury was bornMarch 1854 in Germany
to James and Mary Freebury. James was born in England July 27 1827 died in Chickasaw, Iowa. Mary was born I Ontario, Canada in Oct. 1830. James and Mary married 1851 in Ontario.
There were four Children. George was one of the children. He married Lovilla C. Martin B. born in Penn. 29 Jan 1853
in 1876 in Iowa. George was my grandmother's uncle. I am looking for any pictures the family may have of my grandmother Izie Opal Freebury. She married a Henry Hoeft in 1911.

Hi there I don't have it back that far. I have a James Freebury whose father was Anthony. Anthony stayed in England I am assuming and James came over with his wife Mary/

My family originates from Gloucestershire in England. The earliest ancestor I can be sure of is William who was born in 1785 at Haresfield, Glos.
However, I have found reference to a John Freberye who died in1544 so its possible that one of my/our ancestors went to the US.
I have found a Mary Freebury born about 1676 in Pemaquid, Maine

Uncle Cecil emmigrated to Australia with wife Julia M.
one child Jane, (Doctor of Philosophy-I believe) he later married Suzanne in 1969 two children ( Matthew and Andrew)
You have names now for Cliff and Mae Freebury's children, I hope it helps in your search.

I do not know if you are still tracking family. I have been in regular correspondence with Dale Morgan in Perth (Dennis Freebury's daughter) and we are sharing what information we have.I will try to visit Doreen Freebury in Crickhowell when I am home next week.She is a mine of family information.

My father's brother Cliff Freebury emigrated to Australia in the 1920's. He is dead but still has family in Albany and Perth. There were seven sons and one daughter all born to Harry Freebury who lived in Crickhowell and then Catsash just outside Newport. My Brother Ian C. Freebury lives in Cwmbran Gwent. He is a retired schoolteacher. I emigrated to Toronto Canada as a physician and subsequently became a psychiatrist. My four children,. their spouses and six grandchildren all live in the Toronto area There are several cousins living in Gwent. I f you wish more information please e-mail me
