Do any of you with Freer families from Scotland know anything about my GGrandfather, who appears only in the 1880 census in Battle Creek, MI?

It says he was born in Scotland, was married to Annie (Hansen) from New York state, was the father of 2 little girls and worked as a moulder. By 1900 Annie was a widow with another daughter, born in Jan., 1893. and two additional children, one of whom had died.

I've never been able to find out anything more about Andrew. What part of Scotland he came from, when he came to America. Or if the Robert Freer (1845- aft 1920) who lived near Annie in Sandwich, IL, after 1900, was any relation.

I'd be most grateful for any tidbit about him.
