My great grandfather was from Germany. When Hitler started his killings etc., my great grandfather escaped from Germany, changed his name to Makovnic. I am not sure where else he went. My grandfather, John J. Makovnic, came to the Calhan-Ramah area, east of Colorado Springs, Colorado, around 1925-30. He married my grandmother, Mary Martha Lazor.
I would like any information I can get on my great grandfather. I am not sure of his first name, but my grandfather's first name was John and so was his son's.
