I am working on my Rood line. One of my searches is Frelinghysen Rood who was probably born in NY but other members were born in PA. There is a town in West Germany called Frielinghausen and translated is Frelinghusen. Hope that helps.

I am not related to this person, I am just passing on this information, which comes from a book titled "People & Events of the American Revolution" by Dupuy/Hammerman. R.R. Bowker Company, 1974. pg.324.

Frelinghousen in PA early 1900's

There was a Frelinghousen family in northern Lebanon county in the early 1900's. Does anyone have information on this family? Could it be another spelling of Frelinghuysen?

My gr-gr-grandfather was John Lodge Yater b.1828. There is a cryptic handwritten note penned by my grandmother in reference to him - "mother possibly Frelinghuysen".
I have no other information though - not even where he was born or lived. Did you find anything else? The Dutch fits - my uncle tells me another family spelling was Von Yatter.

3. Theodore Frelinghusen TAYLOR -i was born in 1847 in New Castle Co, Delaware City, Delaware.

He was married to Mary Ann GALE -C (daughter of Alexander GALE -C (2GP) and Hannah KIRBY -C (2GP) ). Mary Ann GALE -C was born on April 26, 1850. She emigrated in 1854 from Trowbridge, England. Theodore Frelinghusen TAYLOR -i and Mary Ann GALE -C had the following children:

4 i. Charles TAYLOR -C.
5 ii. Bertram TAYLOR -C.
6 iii. Arthur TAYLOR -C.
7 iv. Ralph TAYLOR -C.
8 v. Florence TAYLOR -C.
9 vi. Frank Kirby TAYLOR -C was born in 1887 in Bayonne, NJ.

I might have some info on the above John and some of the family. I had found his campain sheet with his picture in the home I bought. Its original, but the date escapes me right now. 1890 maybe? Well, email me at one of my emails at lbaggitt@dvic.com and I will foreward the information that his great great nephew sent me. I promised the original to him (what do I need it for) , but I have only sent a copy to them. Let me know.

I am trying to locate a Frelinghuysen daughter who married a John Yater ( also spelled Egyter, Yates,Yeater/or) I think he was a Dutch Reform minister. Either he or his son died in the american revolution.
