about Robert Frerking, childhood in Chicago, Illinois, he was a student around 1900 or so; I have two grade school readers with handwritten inscription by Walter Frerking, along with his address and some drawings he made. These books must have been sold or passed on in the early 1900s as my Dad (born in 1906) used them in school in Chicago. If any Frerking decendant can give me more info on the right Robert Frerking, I will consider giving you these books. Nancy Turner in Texas

Frerking/Brackmann connection?

Hi! I'm hoping someone can tell me from their Frerking research if there was a connection between the Frerking and Brackmann families in Germany. My g,g,g, grandmother was Dorothea Marie Scheele nee Brackmann and we believe she was born in Esperke, Hanover. There seems to be a very close connection between the Brackmanns and the Frerkings, as well as Oetting and Ehlers families. I'd appreciate any suggestions on finding information from Esperke, as well.

The story I heard said he stayed in Fayetteville, Illinois while his parents and brother went futher west. Louis married Catherine Petri 1868 and Louis died 1891. If anyone has information on parents or if they know their family passed though St. Clair Co., Illinois, I would like to hear from them. Thank you.

I'm surprised you need info - from what I understand there are a lot of Frerkings in Higginsville. Let me know if the above is correct, if so I'll send more info. Hope this helps.

My father, William Louis Frerking was born in Higginsville, Mo. (1914), other than half sisters and brothers he knows nothing of his faters background. His father died when he was 3 and his mother Freida re-married as "Haggard". Any info would be greatly appreciated.<br>Thank You.
