Very cool! This is about as close a match as I have had the good fortune to find on this forum. Although my Sousa did come from Terceira in a little village at the base of Monte Brasil, that doesn't mean our Frias family isn't somehow connected? Are your Father's family living anywhere near Ponte Delgada in Sao Miguel?
