Looking for relatives of the above - the furtherst back I have is a John Adam Frierdich m to Anna Maria (no dates but must be early 1700's) with one child listed - Heinrich (Henrich) b 2-06-1753 m to Barbara Shellhorn and my line goes thru one of their children, Matthew. Other siblings were: John, Catherine Barbara, John Adam, Peter, Catherine, and Barbe - all born in the late 1700's. From what I have- they originated in Deidersheim, Germany and migrated to the Waterloo/Columbia IL area. Would love to tie up some loose ends and find more info on this line.
Wow. A distant cousin. Thanks for the reply. My father obviously came from a long line of Johns, that was his name (John Peter Wallace) and his father's name (John Peter) as well. (I think my grandfather had a brother named Benjamin but I never knew him)

Your great grandfather must have been one of the few children who remained in the area (or returned) as many of them moved to MN/ND (Breckenridge/Wahpeton). Joseph died in Wapheton in 1898. I have found the family in a couple of the census records. The descendents of Peter are having a family reunion this summer. (potentially a very large group, Peter had several childern who had lots of children, etc.-I have 81 first cousins and 7 brothers and sister but very few of them have the last name Friederichs).
Feel free to contact me at fred2mtf@aol.com and I will try to share what information I have, though it is all tossed into a drawer and I will have to go through it. A couple of of my cousins did lots of research which I used as my starting point.
I am looking for information on Nicolaus Friederichs of Gerolstein, Rheinland, Preussen. He was married to Anna Dubbich on 4 Aug. 1825. Their son, Josef, my great great grandfather, was born in Gerolstein on 31 Oct. 1828. At some point Josef/ph came to the US. His son, Peter, my great grandfather, was born in Michigan in 1863. I am looking for information on when they came to this country, brothers and sisters, etc. Thanks for any assistance.
