My ggrandfather was Henry Friedriechs - 1880 census or Friederichs - 1990 census. Various members of the family use Friedrich(s), Friedricks, Fredericks, Fredricks, etc. Henry was a saloonkeeper in Milwaukee in 1880. He born in June 1848 in Prussia and immigrated in 1871. He married Mary Dieckhoff(?) and they had a son Henry Anton F(take your pick). I don't know what happened to Mary, but his second wife was Bertha, born in March 1854 in Germany. They had 4 sons: Oscar J "Arthur" Friedrich, Julius, Siegmund and Frederick. Oscar and Julius were born in Wisconsin. Siegmund and Frederick "Fritz" were born in California. He moved to California between 1885 and 1888, locating in Santa Barbara County where his occupation is listed as shoemaker. I am the grandson of Henry Anton F(whatever).
