The only Thomas Jefferson Frierson, I could find in NC was born in about 1860 in SC. He was living in Buncombe county NC in 1900. His wife's name was Sarah. His children were: Sophia, Mattie, Merion, Alne, and Lulie. Is this the correct Frierson?

Hi! The Bill Frierson you have listed here is my Frierson line.I don't know much about any, but James, my Mom and her siblings were sent to the orphanage when she was 9 and they stayed there until my Mom finished high school. Bill Frierson was my ggg grandfather.If you have found anything on them please let me know.

this is your lucky day I have a James Frierson. Look in 1880 dickson county tn census. Place of birth I belive was Ga on the census. The name has been mistranscribed as Faierson. He and his wife are living in Henderson Proctor household. Do you know anything about them? I am trying to find the parents of my GGGrandfather and his sister living in the same household in the 1900 census. Could these be the children of Frierson? James L Frierson b 19 april 1845 d 22 march 1906. I found where he was buried but don't remember. I think on tengenweb under dickson county cemeteries.

I think you might find you frierson mistranscribed as faierson (James and Mary)in 1880 living in Henderson Proctor household dickson co tn with henderson proctor. I have been wondering who these people are and if you have any info please share.

I really wouldn't know, but anything is possible. I do know that Mollie had several children - Frank/Dock/Fannie/Jake. Don't know if Frierson was the father's name or not. I did not see any of those names in the breakdown you posted though. Thanks for the response. I will keep looking.

Recently while on a hike outside of Sierra Vista, Arizona I came across the grave for W. H. FRIERSON, 1855-1928. To find the grave: from Sierra Vista, AZ go south on Rt 92, turn right on Ramsey Canyon Rd. Go about two miles until you come to a hiking sign on the right with a dirt parking lot. The grave is approximately a 2 mile hike; also visable some rements of old homesite. I have pictures of grave that I will send if interested.

I have a John W. (Wilson?) Frierson, born about 1802 in SC who is living in Maury Co., TN by 1830. It appears that he has married a Malinda Ruth Tennessee Davidson, d/o Thomas Irwin Davidson and Mary Kendall, who was born in MS in 1804. The family is listed in the 1850 census of Maury County; however, the eldest daughter (b. abt 1825-1830), as evidenced by the 1830 and 1840 census is missing. All of the children are reported to have been born in TN, including the oldest - Thomas, b. abt. 1829. The youngest is listed as Albert D. Frierson, age 7.

A cousin of Malinda Davidson, named Curran Davidson, married about 1848 a Sarah Jane Davidson Frierson who was born about 1825 in Louisiana. A published genealogy lists her as the d/o Albert Davidson Frierson and Lucy Serena Davidson (who is listed in that genealogy as a niece of Malinda.). This seemed slightly preposterous so...

I found Albert (as A. D.) in the 1880 census of Columbia, Maury Co., TN with wife L. S., age 30, born MS. This makes sense.

I have 2 primary questions:

1. Can anyone share details of the family and descendants of John Frierson?

2. It would seem logical and concise if Sarah Jane Davidson Frierson was the missing d/o John W. Frierson; however, would it be reasonable for her to have been born in Louisiana? (Evidence of which comes from her listing in 1850 census and her daughter Clara's listing in the 1900 census) Can anyone help with Sarah?

John Frierson (b.1768) is also an ancestor of mine. I have traveled with my parents to Sumter and Clarendon counties in SC to find gravesites. Can you give me more directions to this John Frierson's site. I do have relatives buried at Trinity Methodist Cemetery in Lynchburg, SC (my g- grandfather helped build this church-Adolphus Darby Frierson). Also at a McFaddin family cemetery close to Black River.My father's family farmed land in this area until the 1950's.

I was born in Columbia S.C. on September 28, 1938. I am looking for my father, whom I have not seen since I was six years old. His name is Marion Adolphis Frierson and was born approximately in the year 1912. I have not been able to locate him on the Social Security death index so I think he is still alive. My mother's maiden name is Leila Ava Dellinger and was born in Hopkins, S. C. She has since passed away.

My father lived in or may still reside in Georgia and may possibly have been a chiropractor. It has been rumored, that he remarried and may have a son by that second marriage.

Please, if you have any information on Marion Adolphis Frierson that will aide my search... I will be eternally grateful.

Cheryl, my grandfather's name was Eli Frierson. He lived in McNeil, Arkansas and had a cousin that lived in Homer, Louisiana. Eli was said to have had at least 4 wives. He had my father, Richard Booker Frierson (deceased) who lived in Michigan, Clarence Frierson (deceased) of Arkansas, Grover Frierson of Chicago, Illinois, Linnie Pearl Pace of McNeil, Arkansas. Our last Frierson Family reunion was held in 2002 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Frierson-Byrd connection Sumter District S. C. USA 1760 -1780

I am looking for a connection between Sarah maiden name unknown wife of George Byrd md. circa 1780 and the Frierson Family. She named one of her sons Samuel Ephriam Frierson Byrd.

I believe that she could be a sister in law to Samuel and Ephriam Frierson or a neice by marriage through their wives or sisters. I haven't seen where a Frierson has the name of Samuel Ephriam so believe that they could be two people, brothers, uncle/nephew, grandfather/uncle etc. Any one have insight into the Sumter Friersons that could come up with an Ephriam Frierson or a Samuel Frierson connection to a woman named Sarah of marriageable age around 1780 - 1786?
