My dad has always said that his family had to emigrate from Russia/Germany because his grandpa cut off the ear of his captain in the army. My dad's name is Rick. His dad's name was Rynold or mayber Reynold. I think John may be Rynold's dad.
Everyone ended up in Washington state, eventually. Does anyone out there know anything?
