ARNOLD FRIESEN
Arnold Cornelius FRIESEN was born the youngest of seven on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Lustre, Mont. He joined his family in heaven on Jan. 3, 2008.
Arnold was raised in southwest Minnesota, and then moved to Minneapolis where he married Margaret on Feb. 6, 1942. He served four years in the South Pacific during World War II and received two bronze stars.
In 1953, he moved his family to Lakewood, where he became very active as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 139 for several years. In 1984, they moved to Victorville.
Arnold was an active member of the Lutheran Church all of his adult life. He was a past president of the York Rite Club No. 1 and El Bekal Shrine Club in Victorville. He was also a member of the Free Masons Lodge for 57 years and the El Bekal Shrine Temple for 36 years.
Arnold leaves behind his wife and best friend of 65 years, Margaret; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Lynn FRIESEN of Santa Monica; daughter and son-inlaw, Barbara and Tom Graham of Victorville; two grandsons and their wives, Brian and Shannon Gerke of Victorville and Andrew and Heather Gerke of Hesperia; and four greatgrandchildren.
We will miss him dearly, along with his positive outlook on life, his grand sense of humor, and his unconditional love.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Victor Valley Mortuary Chapel, 17150 C St., Victorville, with burial to follow at Victor Valley Memorial Park.
Victor Valley Mortuary is handling arrangements.
