Alice Friesen [Nee McCauley]

Looking for anyone with information on Alice Friesen [Nee McCauley]
A letter has just been discovered in some old family papers that she wrote to her first cousin in 1980 (or 1987). At the time she was living in San Antonio, TX. The return address on her letter was to a US Air Force Master Sergeant (Retired) Friesen. It’ not clear if this was her husband or a son that she was living with at the time.

In the letter she mentions that she is 87 years old with cataracts on both eyes. So the handwriting is difficult to make out in places. As
I said the letter was written in 1980 or 1987 making her d.o.b. 1893 or 1899. In the letter she mentioned her three boys by name and made reference to “the girls”.

She was the daughter of [James] Harry McCauley and had one known brother named Glenn. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Mrs. FRIESEN dies in Omaha Nebraska 1901

Evening World-Herald
Omaha
Wednesday March 27, 1901

His Daughter, Mrs. George W. Friesen
Succumbs to an Operation for Appendicitis

At 9:05 o'clock last night, Mrs. George W. Friesen, daughter of Congressman W. L. Stark, passed away at St. Joseph hospital, following an operation performed Monday for appendicitis. Members of the family were present at the time of death, which is more to be regretted from the fact that appearances indicated every probability of a successful operation, and Mrs. Friesen's entire recovery.
Hannah Stark Friesen was the wife of George W. Friesen, a banker of Henderson, York county, and was the only daughter of Congressman and Mrs. Stark.
Mrs. Friesen, accompanied by her husband, her father and mother, arrived from her home on Thursday last and was immediately taken to the hospital. She had been a sufferer but a few weeks, and it was decided that an operation was the only relief. Her parents, husband and brother, Lucien, were with her at the time of her death and are heartbroken.
Mrs. Friesen was also the niece of William Ellsworth of the World-Herald.
Mr. and Mrs. Friesen were married on last Thanksgiving day and immediately moved from the Stark family home in Aurora to Mr. Friesen's home at Henderson. Mrs. Friesen was but 22 years of age, and of that happy temperament which attracted friends to her, and her early death will prove a great shock to the people of her home town and to those in Aurora, who have known her all her life.
Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed, but the remains will be taken from Heafey & Heafey's to the train at 8:30 Thursday morning and taken to Aurora where the funeral will be held and interment will take place.

No relation

I am searching for relatives of my GG grandmother, Helena Friesen (1854-1932) who married Johann Rempel in Russia in 1873. They came to the U.S. the following year in the mass-migration of mennonites. I have traced Johann's ancestry but have failed to find much on hers. I think her parents were Nikolai Friesen and Margareta Braun. Please send me anything on any of these individuals.

Hello -

I have recently scoured my 93 year old grandmothers' photo album and discovered a lovely photograph taken of a group of 32 young people at the wedding of Peter Neufeld and Margaretha Friesen in Neuendorf. According to Oma, the wedding took place on July 5, 1930. She has been able to identify all 30 wedding guests, which is quite remarkable!

If anyone has any connections to this couple I would be more than happy to forward a copy of the photo, via e-mail.

Regards,

Edie Williams,
granddaughter of Helena (Harder) Thiessen

Here's a strange question

I'm curious to the existance of one Anthony Cornelius Friesen, born on July 5 1976. That is one other than myself. To make a long story short, getting a criminal check on myself proved tougher than I thought, so now I'm just curious if there is someone with such similar stature. If anyone has information on this, I'd love an email.
My parents are Cornelius Barkman Friesen, and Rita Marie Lesage(so I assume) to avoid any confusion.

P.S. If those aren't my real parents, I don't think I need to know that, I've had enough surprises for one life time.

Siblings Margaret and George Friesen of Henderson, Nebraska

I have recently inherited part of some family research done in the late 1960s in Henderson Nebraska. At that time in Henderson were living a Rev A. W. Friesen (of the Bethesda mennonite church) and his wife Margaret (maiden name Friesen). The reseach states that Margaret and her
brothers B.A. Friesen and George Friesen were 3rd cousins to my grandfather Harry Clifford Funk, born in 1905 in Fremont, Nebraska of James Jacob Funk (son of Johann Jacob Thomas Funk b. 1845 in Russia and Anna Gerbrand) and Mary E. Wickwire. I cannot put together the 3rd cousin relationship with what I know, but other unverified family records state that my grandfather's maternal Aunt Katherina Gerbrand(t?) (daughter of Thomas and ? Penner) b. in 1825 (Russia?) married a Bernard Friesen, b. in 1823 and had many children. These would not produce 3rd cousins to my grandfater, but perhaps the relationship calculator was in error.

I am looking for information which can lead me to family members of the Friesens in question, or anyone who can confirm the relationship.

He is now 39 years old and she left when he was a baby. We have nothing to go by, just her name on his birth certificate and place of birth which was Chicago Illinois. We believe he has a sister by the name of Susan Friesen. But his mother and sister could be married now so we are not really sure of last names. Please Please if there are any relatives out there that know anything please respond. The last known mailing address is 3728 Fremont, Chicago 13, Illinois.
