Thank you for that help. I've got him in contact with several other cousins, some living in the same region. The information posted at the link you provided is helping me develop my extended family tree (or whatever you call it when it branches both upward and downward), so thanks for that too.

I've tried to trace that O'Rourke line also, with no success. Crossing the ocean is a big break in records as well as in the life of the emigrants.

Very glad to meet you - I am not a blood relative, helping my cousin in Massachusetts on his mother's line (Frigault, Rehak, and O'Rourke. It was a tough line to crack and get a foot in the door, but I've helped him make progress since the original post. He's a college student who's caught the "genealogy bug" and he will be thrilled to hear from you. I will forward your message to William. He is great grandson of Marie Alice Frigaut & Charles Henry O'Rourke, thru their son Charles Joseph b 1928 in Maine - now living in Massachusetts. I've put some data in Ancestry.com. and he's has more.

Here's a summary of what I have, mostly from Fidele Theriault's book:

Dominique Blanchard, son of Pierre Blanchard and Heloise Legere, was born 27 January 1861 at Maisonnette. He married in turn Philomene Frigault, Marie-Anne Landry, and Basilice Lanteigne (daughter of Francois-Xavier Lanteigne and Agathe Morias, and widow of Edouard Godin).

Dominique Blanchard, son of Dominique Blanchard and Celina Gionet, was born 25 September 1863 at either Caraquet or Bas-Caraquet. He married Marie Lanteigne, daughter of Francois-d'Assise Lanteigne and Sara Foulem, in 1889. I can not find any definite record of them after that date, but they seem to be listed in the 1930 census as living in Lincoln, New Hampshire. In that census one Omer Blanchard lives next door.

Dominique Blanchard the father was a son of Raphael Blanchard and Marie Antoinette Lanteigne. He was born 27 January 1837. He married first Celina Gionet and second Sarah Frigault.

She was the daughter of Maxime Frigault and Marie Thibodeau of St-Louis-de-Kent (Kent County), New Brunswick. Her brother Alexandre was my grandfather, and there are still descendants of two of her other brothers around St-Louis, NB.

I have plenty of information about her ancestors, but little about her descendants. Would be glad to correspond.

Alice Marie Fregault/Frigault/etc of New Brunswick

Looking for assistance on anyone familiar with St. Louis-des-Francaise Parish - presumed New Brunswick. I found Alices bapt in on line Anc.com Drouin Arcadian births. Alice was the dau of Madison Frigault and Marie Thibodeau. Does anyone know what county the parish is in - location? How does one go abt getting a 1923 marriage certificate for Alice Marie as her marrage date is written in bapt. margin, so presuming it's in St. Louis - wherever that is. Been all over the internet, but answers haven't been found! Thanks for any help!

I have 3 Dominique Blanchards the one that married Philomene was born jan 27, 1861 another one i have was born 25 dec 1863 and have this one married to Marie Lanteigne dont know if this is Basilce Lanteigne or not.

Couple of corrections in what I intended to write:

Daughter Lizzie Blanchard in the 1901 may be the Olesine reported by Fidele Theriault. Census takers write what they think they hear. It's possible that Lizzie was a nickname, too.

It's also possible that daughter Genevieve Blanchard was the same person as Lumina (who is listed in the 1911 census, but not the 1901!). Their reported birth dates are not all that far apart. That possibility is more of a stretch, but I have seen stranger things turn up in the census.

My sources on this family were Fidele Theriault's book, the census (thanks to those who transcribed it on automatedgenealogy.com), and the Provincial Archives.

Daughter Genevieve is listed in the 1901 census, and her birth is recorded in PANB record series 141A5, but she is not listed in the 1911 census. I'm afraid she must have died before then.

From the census it is clear that this Dominique Blanchard married Basilice Lanteigne, the widow of Edouard Godin. According to Fidele Theriault, the widow of Marie-Anne Landry married Basilice Lanteigne, so this Dominique Blanchard must have married all three women. The marriage to Marie-Anne Landry was only a couple of months after the death of Philomene Frigault. The small children were fortunate to have a step-mother taking care of them.

I did omit Pierre Blanchard, as well as Lizzie Blanchard (almost certainly named Elisabeth), and it was an oversight. I intended to try to find out who they were from later records before listing them in my database (and have not yet accomplished that), so when I summarized the family, I did not see them, even though I had census records listing them. Can you provide me information on either of them?

I am trying to find all the descendants of Pierre Frigault of New Brunswick. A big reunion is planned as part of the 2009 celebrations in the Caraquet area, and it would be great to present a family tree that includes everyone who ought to be in it.

thanks guys, I have nothing on Genevieve either and u said it was Amede as a son however it is Joseph Amedius Blanchard who was married to my Grand Aunt Marie Beatrice Albert sister of my grandmother Olive Albert.

I also have 9 kids to this couple but no Geneviève Blanchard (would you have anything else on her?), instead I have a Pierre Blanchard (maried 3 times), that you did not mention.
I have 7 kids to Onésime & Philomène: Théotiste, Albertine, Simon, Alexis(died at 2yrs old), Rose Anna Hélène, Yvonne and Jérôme.

Thanks, apricate it and i have spoken to Joe Albert for years and he didnt have anything further on those lines. My brandmother was an Albert and he had helped alot on that line along with my Doirons, Theriault, Blanchard

Dominique Blanchard and Philomene Frigault had at least nine children: Lumina, Olesine, Rebecca, Henri, Gustave, Stanislas, Romeo, Amede, and Genevieve. Philomene Frigault was a daughter of Jean-Dominique (Dominique) Frigault and Marie-Rose Blanchard of Grande Anse. Dominique Frigault was a son of Pierre Frigault and Marie Lanteigne of Caraquet, and Marie-Rose Blanchard was a daughter of Zozime Blanchard and Marie Venerande Pinet of Caraquet.

Onesime Doiron and Philomene Frigault had at least four children: Marie Theotiste, Emma Albertine, Simon, and Marie Helene Rose Anna. This Philomene Frigault was a niece of the Philomene mentioned above. Her parents were Pierre Frigault and Theotiste Noel. This Pierre Frigault was a son of Jean-Dominique Frigault and Marie-Rose Blanchard. Theotiste Noel was a daughter of Jean Noel and Marguerite Vienneau.

Most of this information came from work done by Jean-Guy Frigault, Fidele Theriault, and Joe Albert. There is much more available in files uploaded on RootsWeb WorldConnect. I have some of that at hand, but probably ought to keep this post brief.

While doing my research I found that there was no board for the Frigault surname so I requested one and here it is. I am Looking for Philomene Frigault b 6 mar 1861 married to Dominique Blanchard 1 oct 1883 in Grand Anse, New Brunswick. Ancesters and descendancsy would be appreciated. Also another Philomene Frigault b 20 oct 1872 Married to Onesmine Doiron 12 feb 1896 same information on here also
