Cathy, I have finally tied your family to mine... and we kin thru Josiah Frisby..woo hoo!! He is my 3rd g. grandfather. I know you are doing research on the burials of Shady Grove and I have been thumbing thru some of my material, and discovered a Wilburn Honea was also buried there. You may already have him, his funeral charges were charged to W.T. Jobe. He died Nov 27, 1915, and was buried at Shady Grove. He was 84. Cause of death--Dropsy of the liver. Sorry, to list this on an irrevelent page, but I had misplaced your email.

Re: Samuel Frisby Sarah Catherine Futch

Connie,

I noticed this message is old but I found it interesting to respond to. Melissa and Jesse's daughter Tabitha Abitha is my gg grandmother (my mom's mother's mother's mother). Tabitha Abitha Frisby married James Robert Plair. They had a daughter named Lillie Druscilla Plair (my greatgrandmother). Lillie married a John Thomas Evans and they had my grandmother Sarah Tabitha Evans. What is interesting is that we have a letter that my grandmother received from her brother, Samuel Elton (S.E.), that says "our mother's mother was half cherokee." Unfortunately, neither my grandmother or her brother are still alive to ask about this. Well according to that, Tabitha Abitha Frisby Plair was half cherokee. So if S.E. was correct, either Jesse Frisby or Melissa Hughes was full cherokee. But I took the ancestry.com maternal mtdna test recently and found out that I am hyplogroup H. If Melissa was full cherokee then I think I would be either hyplogroup A, B, or C. So it must be Jesse that is cherokee or some other husband of one of my great grandmothers.

Tara

William Frisby was christened in the Church of England Parish Church of Measham (Derbyshire) on 5 Feb 1809. The entry on the parish records reads "William Son of David Frisby and Jane".

David Frisby and Jane were married at Edgbaston, as mentioned in an earlier reply. That parish record listed David as from the "Measham" parish and Jane Wilkes as from "this" parish.

There is no evidence that would indicate that David's father was named David. This unverified information could have been caused by a mix up of generations. David and Jane had a son, David, christened at the Church of England Parish Church of Measham (Derbyshire) on 31 Aug 1806.

So who is David's father? Still searching. There is a David Frisby, son of Thomas Frisby and Mary (that was christened 29 May 1785 at Holy Trinity, Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire), but I am still investigating this path.

Hello,

I have managed to trace my ancestry back to one Thomas Frisby, a foundry labourer, who was born ca 1805 in Morcott, Rutland, England, and married Hannah Cree on 18 Dec 1825 in Pinxton, Derbyshire, and had eight children that I know of:

1. Sarah (bap. 11 Jun 1826, Alfreton, Derbyshire)
2. John, my ancestor (bap. 27 Jan 1828, Alfreton), who moved to London
3. William (bap. 9 Jan 1831, Alfreton), who lived some time in Manchester, Lancashire, then moved to Buxton, Derbyshire
4. Thomas (bap. 25 Mar 1832, Alfreton), who moved to Leeds, Yorkshire
5. Ann (bap. 5 Jan 1834)
6. Elizabeth (bap. 14 Jul 1835, Alfreton), who married Samuel Webster on 28 Feb 1878 in Alfreton
7. Benjamin (bap. 30 Apr 1837, Alfreton), obviously died an infant
8. Benjamin (bap. 24 Jun 1838, Alfreton), a carpenter, who stayed in Alfreton

If you believe we may be related, I would be delighted to share information.

Regards,
Tim Robb

I am in the process of just trying to start a family tree. I am a Frisby and my family was from Morgan County Kentucky. I was excited to find anything re: Frisby's from Kentucky. There is very little I know about my family including birthdates and dates of their deaths. My grandfather was Green Frisby from Morgan County and my father was Decater Frisby born in 1914 in Morgan County. I don't know if any of these Frisby's are related to me or not, but I do hope to find out some more info. Thank you for your input on the Frisby family. Joann

Hello, my name is Kara BUDD and I am searching for any further information about my great grandparents that I have never met. Their names are Dewey Beane and his wife Ruby Edmonds. They gave birth to my grandmother in 1923 named Oneida Beane, in Virginia. My thoughts would be that they were born in the early 1900s.

I am also looking for the names of my great grandparents on my father’s side. My father, Michael BUDD, was born in Springfield, MA in 1957 from Robert BUDD and Dorothea JACOBS. I have no records of who my great grandparents are. Both of my grandparents, Robert and Dorothea are long deceased.

If anyone can help me find out information about my past relatives that would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Kara Budd
University Of Connecticut
From what I could see Sarah Mynheir is listed on the 1920 Census Oklahoma...as DIVORCED (by age 61) and living with her son Milburn T. Mynheir (KY b 1885)wife Laura b 1896 Kentucky and children. Sarah had another son, listed as Milburns brother,Henry Mynheir (b 1899)living in the same house. Her former husband was still listed as living in Kentucky and reported on the Census that he was widowed. She must have been something else! Good for her. I believe that this Sarah Elizabeth Frisby (b 1858) is the dau of Robert E. and Elizabeth Grayson. In 1930 she was living by her self and listed as widowed in Oklahoma. I believe she died there in about 1935.
