DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Luke P. Frist, 20, of West Lafayette, Ind., died of wounds on Jan. 5 at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Frist was part of a convoy that was struck with an improvised explosive device in Baghdad, Iraq. Frist was assigned to the 209th Quartermaster Company, U.S. Army Reserve, based in Lafayette, Ind.

This incident is under investigation.

Bryan, I am just getting back to the message board some time after you wrote. I joined this Ancestry.com to find out more about the Frist Family and have been helping your Dad with research. I am your second cousin and was at the wedding of Dorothy and took a picture of you and your brothers at the table at the Country club. That was some wedding! We are so proud of your dad and his big win in Tennessee a few days ago. I know that you are really proud and you have a right to be that way. I remember him as a little 4 year old boy, watching Captain Kangaroo. He was adorable. I hope your school year is going well and you are loving everything that you do! I am a cousin of Senator Bill frist and have been looking for information on the Frists in the 1700s and early 1800s. I already have quite a bit on births and marriages but need to find if there is any connection with the Frists who came over in 1736 from the Palatine area to Philadelphia( Jacob and Phillip) and if they have any connection to Rudolph and Henry.
