I too believe that John Peter Fretz's son, Christian Wilhelm, is not the same man who settled in Somerset County after the Revolutionary War ended.

There is some indication that the Christian Wilhelm Fritz of Somerset County may have been born to either Johannes Jurg or Johannes Martin Fritz of New Hanover, Montgomery County. At the very least, there is record of a man of the same name with a brother Valentin, and children with the same names as his, who lived there for a period of time predating Christian Wilhelm Fritz's arrival in Somerset County.
