LeRoy John Fritzen, the son of George I. and Clara (Krohn) Fritzen was born on November 28, 1928 on a farm west of Albion. He attended school at District #44 until the eighth grade, then graduated from Albion High School in 1946.
On December 28, 1951 LeRoy entered the United States Air Force. He served in Japan in Aircraft Maintenance. On December 8, 1955 LeRoy was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.
LeRoy was united in marriage to Mildred Stevenson on September 13, 1959 at the Church of Christ in Albion. They lived and farmed in the Albion area. In the fall of 1991 LeRoy retired and they moved to Albion.
On Monday, September 4, 2006 LeRoy passed away at Bryan LGH in Lincoln, NE at 77 years of age.
He was a member and treasurer at the Church of Christ in Albion.
LeRoy is survived by his wife Mildred of Albion; 5 children: Warren and wife Jennifer of Elgin, NE; Sharron Morrill and husband John of Overland Park, KS; Laurie Shotts of Loveland, CO; Duane of Albion; Joan Markley and husband John of Lincoln, NE; 11 grandchildren: Amanda, Stephen, Laura, Sarah, Keenan, Haleigh, Dylan, Dakota, Britton, Dena, and Meg; 2 sisters: Evelyn Realph of Fremont; Dellora Volberding of Omaha; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Vernon; and 2 infant brothers.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Church of Christ in Albion with Gene Goben officiating. Burial will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Levander Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the York College Advancement Office, 1125 E. 8th St., York, NE 68467.
