Could you please contact me? I have info on Barbara Froehlich who I think married Henry Brustman 21 Feb 1897 in Brooklyn. I believe she had a child before she married Henry. I also have a photo of Anna Maria Ebner Froehlich's second husband, Charles Stoesser. I have a photo of the house George built, and know where Anna's grave is, but can't find George's grave. I would like to confirm the Froehlich/Brustman line. Geo and Anna were my gr gr grandparents.
You can reach me at irishandgermanroots@yahoo.com
Thanks.
Hi. There are many Degensteins recorded in the www.grhs.org (Germans from Russia Heritage Society); however, to get information, you will need to become a member. Maybe it is benefitical to you. Only 50 dollar membership. I am not able to get much on my Froehlich side there. Do you have ancestory information on your grandmother Froehlich side?

Froehlich's from Germany living in St Louis, Mo

My Maiden name is Froehlich. My father Harold John and his brother Roland were sons of Anthony Froehlich and Laura Richter. All were born in St Louis, Mo I have had minimal contact with any of my ancestry since Harold died when I was 8 years old. I have been in touch with a relative of Frank Froehlich who was my grandfather's brother, and they had a sister named Clara. Their parents were Martin Froehlich and Elizabeth Richter. The family spoke about coming from the Alsace-Lorraine area in Germany/France, but I would love to contact anyone with any information on the Froehlichs.

While researching the Froehlich from Bad Rappenau I hit the Froehlichs from Bruchsal. So far no relationship is obvious. But I can get you in touch with a Freohlich descendant from Bruchsal. Like myself he lives in Germany and I believe he will be very interested in sharing information.

Please email me directly at byriga@aol.com

Gaby (Germany)

Hi Bob,

your posts are quite old. But perhaps you are interested.
I've just researched the Froehlich from Rappenau in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. The first I have found was Hans Jacob Froehlich born about 1640/1650. His son was a Peter Froehlich *1 June 1681 in Rappenau (today Bad Rappenau).

If you think there is a connection please get in touch with me directly: byriga@aol.com. I could help you get in touch with a US-Froehlich descendant if there is a connection.

Gaby (Germany)

Froehlich & Koehler were wholesale liquor dealers in Newark, NJ in the late 1800s. A google search will yield references from the NY Times and elsewhere. Not my people, as far as I know, but names that keep turning up in my searches.

Yes this is my family, husband's actually. His line if from Jacob (Martin's brother). I have been lucky to find quiet abit for them but am desperate to see if anyone has information about where they came from. I went to Germany last year but unfortunately unless you know the city, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Everything there is still kept in the church archives or city archive and it's not merged so you really have to know where they came from if you want to source any additional information.

Where are you located ? My husband is from Tell City, IN. Most of the family is still there.

I have some information (not verified) on your Froehlich/
Frelich family, if they were in the Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan area.

From the Mariposa (R.M.) history book:

"The Frelich family of seven boys and one girl came to live near Tramping Lake in 1910 - Alphonse, Nelson, Balzar, Andrew, Stanley, Joseph, George, and Lena (Halter)."

There follows a short family history for the Nels Frelich family. Some of his descendants are still in the area.

My grandmother was Annie Froehlich, who also lived in the area. According to some research by her nephew, the Alphonse Frelich (from above info) came to America with my grandma's grandfather, Karl Ludwig Froehlich. They were also from Mannheim, Russia. They are on the ship's passenger list together. We have no idea how or if we are related, though.

I look forward to your reply.

I have a grandfather who was from Brooklyn NY. I am trying to find out who his parents were. His name is Peter Froehlich, born in 1928 and died in Iowa in 1952 from polio. The story told is that Peter's mother and father divorced. Peter's mother told him that his father was dead. We know that wasn't true, his father sent flowers and a card to his funeral. Peter's mother is Elsie Bieselin and her mother is Marie Bieselin, from Brooklyn NY area. We are trying to find out more information on our family but can't. I don't know if Peter's father remarried or not. But Peter Froehlich lived in Boone, IA...married Patricia Larsen and had children-Timothy, Danny, & Gary.
