Bethsina Jane was named after her grandmother: Bethsina McGeath Pierce, married to Gainor Rhodes Pierce. Bethsina and her husband left Virginia in 1838 when Bethsina first child, Armstead Moffett joined the Mormon church and convinced the family, including Martha Ann to move to Far west, Missouri. Two of the Pierce children moved with the Mormons to Illinois, in 1839 but the other including Martha stayed with their parents. She married Felix a year before her mother died, and had Bethsina Jane a year after her mother's death. Her father Gainor then moved to Platte City Missouri, and Martha Ann may have met Felix then. it seems that she lived alone with her children during the Civil War, and then Felix returned they left on the Oregon trail and stopped in Idaho. My great-great-great grandmother was Martha Ann Pierce's sister Elizabeth Jane Pierce Burn, she have traveled with the Mormons to Utah. From the McGeath Familyu history: a
One day Elizabeth received a newspaper published in the Salt Lake City that a barn had burned in Caldwell, Idaho belonging to Felix Kent Forman. She sent a letter to the Caldwelll Post Office inquiring about the Froman family and to her great surprise and joy, found that it was her sister and brother in law. I don't know those dates but apparently Martha Ann and Elizabeth Jane finally learned that they had been close for many years, but by the time Elizabeth Jane discovered Martha in Idaho she and her husband had moved to Pima AZ where she died, so the sisters never saw each other. I don't know about the children of Martha and Felix but found your list interesting because Martha named one child after her mother, and one after her sister. If can locate the MCGeath Family history by Morna Howell, you will find a story of the Froman trip to Idaho. It may be available through the LDS library in SLC, or elsewhere.
