YOUNGSTOWN, OH- Gerald L. Fronk, 71, passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 22, 2011, at his home.
Gerald was born Oct. 16, 1939, in Napoleon, Ohio, a son of the late Leonard and Alberta Fronk, and first came to Youngstown, OH in 1959.
After his marriage and birth of his first daughter, Jerry settled in North Huntingdon, Pa., for 18 years, where raised his family.
While raising his family in the Norwin, Pa., area, Jerry was president of the Markvue Manor Recreation Assoc., and coached PAL boys baseball and St. Agnes boys basketball. He returned to Youngstown in 1995.
Prior to retirement, Jerry was senior toy buyer for the G.C. Murphy Co., was a buyer for McCrory’s, and worked in the men’s department of J.C. Penney’s in the Southern Park Mall.
He leaves his beautiful wife of 50 years, Nancy Gmitter Fronk, whom he married June 10, 1961; three children, Debra (John) Dalrymple of North Huntingdon, Pa., Jeffrey Fronk of Jupiter, Fla., and Theresa (Sean) Flanigan of Ashville, N.C.; five grandchildren, Angela, Kevin, Meaghan, Brenna and Maeve; a brother, Fred (Vangie) Fronk of Bullard, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Kenneth Fronk, is deceased.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at 7 p.m.
Mr. Fronk’s family suggests that contributions be made in Jerry’s memory to Southern Care Hospice, 5401 Ashley Circle, Suite E, Austintown, OHIO 44515.
