We have been looking for family and have gone back as far as Joseph Freouf who was born in Rokycany, Bohemia on May 31, 1857. He died in Atkinson, NE, USA, on Aug 26 1927.
We know that he lived in Diagonal,IA for a few years from 1876 when he came to America to 1884 when he moved to Atkinson, NE. He was married to Frances Ziska who was born in Krunwald, Bohemia on Aug 27, 1861. She had come to America in 1866 with her family. Her father was Jan(John) Ziska and her mother was Frances Tasler, both from Krunwald, Bohemia. This is far back as we have been able to get. We believe that Joseph changed to spelling of his name at sometime. We have been told that it was once Fruehauf or Freeof, and possibly several other things. It would be so exciting if we could move beyond this. So yes we could be related but we just don't know which tree we fell out of yet. Ha!
