I am relation via Robert Earl Frush, son of Clyde Oscar Frush, son of Jesse A. Frush, son of George Washington Frush Sr., son of Peter Frush, whom from what I've read thus far is believed to be the son of Georg Frush, which is the son of Hans Georg Froschauer. If anyone wants/needs any information on this side of the family, feel free to send me a message here or direct to my email at Melissa.Harmon.12609@gmail.com, just make sure to put "Ancestry" in the subject so I know it's not spam.

Thanks and Happy Hunting!

Melissa

My name is Melissa, and my maternal grandparents adopted me when I was little, so I was raised by them. I don't know much about the family, but my "Dad" was Robert Earl Frush, born 07 Dec 1931, son of Clyde Oscar Frush. Clyde died when my father was very young, so his mother remarried, and bore several girls with her new husband. Clyde Oscar had another son, Walter Clyde, that died at a very young age (about 4-5 yrs old) as well. Most of the family is from WV from my understanding, but I am just starting to dig back on this. Both of my "parents" have passed on, and the remaining family doesn't seem to know much about our lineage. I'll keep digging though and share anything I find. If anyone wants to share info, feel free to email me at Melissa.Harmon.12609@gmail.com just put from Ancestry so I don't think it's spam.

Freshour Dna Project

A Dna Project has been started to find the descendants of Johann Georg Froschauer.

The family of Johann Georg Froschauer and his wife, Catharina Graf, daughter of Hans Adam Graf, emigrated from Germany to Pennsylvania in 1732. Georg Froschauer took up land in the area owned by John Digges, mainly in present-day Adams County (originally Lancaster, then York, then Adams), comprising the areas of Germany and Conewago Townships and inclusing the town of Littlestown on its southwestern end. There were several sons, and several variations of the surname exist today. This project is an outgrowth of, first, a newsletter that began in 1993 (Freshour Faces), and now a Rootsweb mailing list under the generalized surname of FRESHOUR. Anyone is welcome to participate.

Surnames in Project:
Freshour, Froschauer, Froshour, Frush, Frushour, there could be others.

To join go to www.familytreedna.com/public/Freshour and click the link "Request to join this group"

Gordon Seyffert is the administrator.
I'm tracking down these same people. I got Charles Conrad's obituary today. I'll be going back to see if I can find Benjamin's or Virginia's obituaries later on:

August 1, 1952
Charles C. (Baldy) Frush dropped dead this morning at his home in Cavetown, aged 73 years.
He was the son of the late Benjamin and Virginia Conrad Frush and a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Western Enterprise Fire Company, and the Fraternal order of Eagles.
Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Catherine Anderson, Mrs. Mary Fair, , Mrs Oda Snodderly, Mrs. Alvina Settle, and Mrs. Genevieve Bonds, all of this city and Maxine Owens, Cavetown, and Sister Mrs. Florence Woods, this city.
Fifteen grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren also survive. The body was removed to the Minnich Funeral home where it may be viewed.

PA Froschauer descendants?

Some of the Frush families are descendants of the York (now Adams) County, PA Froschauer family. Note in particular the connected family of (Johann) Jacob Frush who lived in Franklin County, PA and some siblings who moved down into West Virginia, as well as some others who changed the name first to Freshour and later to Frush. The name was Froschauer in Germany and early Pennsylvania but was soon anglicized, mostly to Freshour, but sometimes to Froshour, Frushour, Frishour, Frush, and even Frazier. After you have followed your families back in the census, vital, land, and court records, if you think you might connect to this family, join the Freshour mail list by sending an email with a subject of
"Subscribe" to:
Freshour-L-request@rootsweb.com
Let us hear from you when you join the list!
Best wishes, Kathi

Hello to all the Frushes out there! Be assured that there are many still around. I have family who originated in Germany, migrated to Virginia/West Virginia and then on to Indiana. I am part owner of the original family farm in Warsaw, Kosciusko County, IN. For those of you interested in possibly finding out more about your Frush family background - contact Jim Frush at chief@mail.gmi.net < He is the family genealogist and has been doing research for many years. There are also many postings on query boards about Frushes on some of the other genealogy sites. You may find cousins there. I have only limited information concerning my family line, so I am not much help. But feel free to contact me at pooh.bear5@juno.com <

Hi Janice,
I noticed you have some information on Frushes. My mother was a Frush, her father's name was Charles Conrad Frush, and his father's name was Benjamin Frush, mother: Virginia Conrad.
Anything sound familiar? I would appreciate any info I can get. I have no dates.

Frank had 2 girls. Their mother was Lulubelle Frush. I don't know where they were from before coming to California. I don't know if this can help you as I do not have a lot of information at this point.

Hi,Judith
I'm sorry I don't have anything on the Frush's of West Virginia at this time but iff I find anything I would be more then happy to let you know. I"m begening to think that the Frush's all came fron the same cloth in some way. My side came from Baltimore, Maryland then San Francisco in about 1889; West Virginia is not that far. Also I have found a nother Frush, her faimly came from WV, like yours she might be closer to who you are looking for. Right now she knows nothing about her family and is looking.
I will try to put you in contact with her if you like, just let me know.

Janice
tullyjanice@aol.com

Are you looking for Frushes in West Virginia, by any chance? Lama Frush and J. Frush were listed as the parents of my grandmother Gertrude in West Virginis in 1902. She was adopted by the Coffman family in Grafton, West Virginia. Any connection?

I am looking for information about Lama Frush and J. Frush who were the parents of my grandmother, Gertrude. She was adopted by the Coffman family of Grafton, West Virginia so I suspect the Frushes were living in West Virginia when she was born, 1902. Do you happen to have any info?
