Those given names, particularly George and John, are in my Missouri line, which I strongly suspect--but have not proven--ties to the Pendleton County, Kentucky, line. If there is a male with the Fryer (of whatever spelling)surname who would be willing to do a Y-DNA test, please post or otherwise let me know, as test result can tie lines together.

Hi Debbie, I am replying to your 2005 question. Know that was a while ago but have only recently started researching. My g.g.grandfather was George W fyers who went to USA. I am the g.grandaughter of John Fryers, George's first born in USA. John, as far as I know had only two children. 1st my grandmother Eliza Jane Fryers. 2nd, a son John Henry Fryers 1892-1923. Would dearly like to find out about him but unsuccessful so far. Hope we can exchange more info on Fryers. look forward to hearing from you

The wife of John Fryer is Sylvia - just realized she is Sylvia Phillips d/o William Phillips d 1834 and Sarah per other information:

Circuit Court Case #3975 May 23, 1834
Hutty Hutchason, John Fryer, et al vs. Phillips Heirs

The heirs of Elijah Phillips, son of William Phillips, Senior, state that William Phillips died in Green Count in 18--, intestate. He left a tract of land upon which he lived and died, containing 162 1/2 acres which descended to the widow and heirs of said William Phillips, Senior.
The widow of William Phillips, Senior is Sarah Phillips. The children of William Phillips are:
Elijah Phillips, dec'd
Sylvia Fryer married John Fryer**
Jesse C. Phillips
William Phillips
Mary Taylor married Samuel Taylor
There are 9 other children besides Elijah.

Peter Fryer - Squatter Molka Station, Longwood, VIctoria

I am looking for information regarding a Peter Fryer who was the owner of Molka Station. Fryerstown and Fryer creek were named after him. My gr gr Grandfather James Christoher Egan worked as a shepherd at Molka Station and married Sarah McVeigh. One of their tiny babes Peter Egan is buried on the station in 1863. This is a long shot, but I'm researching a William Tarpley Fryer (b. 1838 KY - d. 1888 TX). I suspect that his father was William W. Fryer... but the evidence is still not conclusive. The fact that you have a Tapley Fryer who might be the father of William W Fryer makes me think that my William Tarpley Fryer may be a grandson. You know how those names travel through the generations.

John & Sarah Fryer Tennessee 1786

I'm trying to find the parents of John A. Fryer (b. 1775-80 NC, d.1839 White Co., TN) and his sister Rebecca (b. ~1786 TN, d. ~1857 Van Buren Co., TN)

Here is what I have found:
When the French Broad Baptist Church was founded in 1786 near Dandridge, TN, among its original members were John Fryer and Sarah Fryer. In 1799, a John Fryer signed a petition from inhabitants south of the French Broad River to the Tennessee legislature. These people were occupying their land without title to it and were asking that the land be sold to them “at a modest price” and for relief from taxes. In 1808, John Fryer Jr. bought land in Blount Co., TN. In 1813, another petition from inhabitants south of the French Broad River to the state legislature seeking relief from taxes was signed by John Fryer. Based on this evidence, it is possible that the parents of John A. and Rebecca Fryer were the John and Sarah Fryer that were members of French Broad Baptist Church in 1786 and signed the 1799 petition. John A. Fryer could have been John Jr. who bought the land in Blount Co. in 1808. Either father or son could have signed the 1813 petition.

Other Fryers that are probably connected to this family are William Fryer (b. 1790-1800), Abraham Fryer (b. 1790-1800), and Sarah Fryer (b. ~1800, m. Thomas Carleton 1816 Bibb Co., AL). All of these individuals showed up later in Bibb Co., AL.

Does anyone have anything to support this theory or evidence against it?

Funny you should mention a Comfort... I hired a professional genealogist about 20 yrs ago and she told me that Edwin had married a Comfort Capper. Could VALLENDER possibly be a first husband? or Capper a first husband?

Robert Fryer's parents are listed on the 1860 census as J.D. and Jane Fryer, at Line Creek, Spalding County, Georgia. After J.D. died in approximately 1865, Jane Fryer remarried a Vaughn Norton. She died about 1925 in Thomas County, Georgia. J.D. listed his state of birth as South Carolina, but I can't find any further info on him.

I have a Robert Fryer as the son of Zachariah and Adelia N. Sheehe Fryer. That Zachariah was the son of Zachariah Lewis Fryer and Sarah Matthews. However, I have them listed as living in Pike County which is very close to Spaulding.

He was married to Lucy unknown and had three children: James Alton, Robert Hilliard, and William A. After her death, he married Callie unknown and had an additional six children with her. Anything would be wonderful. My middle name is Hester after Aunt Hester. Min passed away 04012004 and I spoke with Uncle Bill at that time and he said he knew nothing. Nobody appears to have known anything. I found out that Min in fact had no children. My brother Tony is legally adopted, Helen belongs to June Fryer and Gary Salter(Min's nephew) all of whom are now deceased. The records from the Harris have completed disappeared. A lot more I have found out so can email you if you like. What is your email. cheers Jackie

I am very interested in any information you might have regarding the Fryer Family. Josie Fryer was my great grandmother. My grandfather was James Huskey from her first marriage to Daniel Huskey. I remember visiting her once as a little girl. She was very short and had long hair which she wore in a bun. I think she let me brush it.

We have found Walter Fryer's grave and his wife also. John H and wife Frances Norris Fryer are also buried there. Percy was may husbands grandfather. I have been working on lots of history and pictures. Love to talk/email with you.

I am a direct descendant of Donald Fryer, whose father was Percy Fryer in Falmouth. My father, Donald, grew up in the Fryer Home in Falmoutn, which is a Museum now. I have 3 brothers, Daniel, John and Richard Fryer. All in the Northern Ky. area. I don't know if they would be interested in the dna study, though.

My grandfather Harry Fryer immigrated from Staffordshire England to U.S.A. in 1866. His father is Alfred Fryer and was born in Cheshire.

I am the daughter of Bill Fryer (Alan Fryer's half brother.)
I know they had a daughter Jacquiline -as I met her a couple of times that I remember as a child. I was born in 1948.
Alan and Min divorced. I have two Aunties ( daughters of Hester Fryer, (Alan's full sister) that I could contact.
They might know something the hospital.
Hester and her family lived near St Helens Hospital when I was a child.

Hi there! I am looking for my g-grandads family that also was from Ireland Daniel Friar/Fryer and Mary Mcbride had 4 children Mary, Catherine, John and Dennis. John was born 1872 and thy were all born in Letterkenny Co. Donegal. John immigrated to New Zealand and married my g-grandmother Edith Torr in approx 1911. He died in New Zealand in 1929 but we never knew of his family or history in Ireland. Thanks :-)

I dodn't know of somewhere there is any match but I have a Frederick Breedon fryer born 1866 in Lincolnshire UKhe arrived in US in 1884 married in 1887 Emma e Barnard lived in Rhode Island from 1900to 1960 when he died aged 94 {good age}
They had 3 girls
All my fryers in USA caeme from Elijah Fryer1839 who went out in 1887 with 11 of their 13 children
