Bob Fudge is buried near or at Broadus MT. I guess there is a museum there about him and has some artifacts. Have you read the book "Bob Fudge, Texas Trail Driver"? It is a very good book, maybe that will help you.

If I find more about William I'll let you know. So far this FUDGE family is the only one in the area. They settled in Huntsville and Touchet, WA. John FUDGE gave land for a college in the area. Keep in touch.

My Post titled "Fudge's in Huntsville," shows the link to Illinois. Sadly, I still do not have a database but others online do, have you found someone who has already done you line?

Fudge's in WV and Ohio

I'm looking for any information on Willard Nathan Fudge (born about 1910 in WV) who married Virginia Mae Madden (born about 1929 in OH). Madden family story is that Ginny and Bill lost 2 children in a house fire between the years 1955 and 1960. There is no-one left to ask on the Madden side for details, so I'm hoping that someone on the Fudge side can help me.
Willards family was; father: John Henry Fudge, mother: Maude Belle Clark, Siblings: James Perry, Charles Henry, Walter Edward, Millard Raymond (could be a twin of Willard's) and Susan J. I believe that they were all born in West Virginia, however I'm not sure.

Thank you so much for your reply to my inquiry. Nellie P. Fudge was the daughter of Elizabeth Emerson who was my grandfather's (Thomas Martin Emerson) sister. Eliabeth married John D. Fudge and they apparently immigrated from Preble Co. Ohio to Montana as John died there. The only information I have on Edgar is that he was born in 1876 and spent some time in Ohio and died in Silver Bluff , Montana. Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you. Yes I did know about Nellie belonging to the DAR. Thanks again , I was hoping to find some children of theirs. Julia Emerson Tracy

Jullia -

Nellie Pearl Fudge was the wife of my 1st cousin twice removed - Edgar Jacob Strasburger.

Nellie died December 21, 1960 in Yellowstone County, Montana. Edgar died in January 1963 (location unknown). As far as I know, they had no children.

Edgar was one of five children of Isadore Strasburger (Strausburger) and Rachel Cohen. Their names were Nettie (1867-1957), Eva (1870-?), Herman (1871-abt 1945),and Rodman Ellis (1882-?).

Isadore's brother, Louis, was my great-grandfather. All of Louis' children changed/shortened their last name to Strasburg.

You may already know, Nellie P. Strasburger was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR ID#58886)a decendent of Archibald Stark (1730-1819) who served in the Revolutionary War.

I would certainly enjoy receiving any relevant information that you would like to share about your family...and in particular, any information you have about the Strasburger line.

Sincerely,

Frank Sperling

I ran across this today which also aludes to Edgar and Nellie not having any children:
Children of John & Elizabeth (Emerson) FUDGE:
1. Floy Frances FUDGE, (son) b. abt 1863 in OH
2. Nellie Pearl FUDGE, b. abt 1879 in El Dorado OH, d. 21 Dec 1860 at Yellowstone Montana age 82; m. Edgar Jacob Strasburger; She DAR member #58886; Edgar b. 5 Aug 1876 in Montana [his father from Poland] and d. Jan 1963 in Montana. In 1930 U.S. Census living in Butte, Silver Bow Co. Montana, as a civil mining engineer. Nellie's brother Floy F. Fudge, single age 66 is living with them. In 1910 census in Butte, Nellie states she has had no children.

The above is an exerpt from the Stark Family Tree found at:

http://www.nh.searchroots.com/HillsboroughCo/Manchester/star...

G. R. Fudge (Bob) was my great uncle, my family came from Coppers Cove Texas and homesteaded in northeastern New Mexico. I am not sure but I have heard through family that Uncle Bob was buried either in Miles City or Broadus, Montana. I know he had a ranch near Broadus, MT., and had a daughter married to a Broadus, I believe her name was Charlotte, but I don't know her husbands name. I hope this will be of some help.
Charlene Fudge Greenwald

Bob Fudge is buried at Broadus, MT in the Powder River area. If you contact the Powder River Museum in Broadus, MT (406-436-2977) they can give you more details. They have a display in their museum of Bob Fudge artifacts.

We own the copyright to the boo entitled "Bob Fudge, Texas Trail Driver". Please look at our web site at www.bobfudge.com The book is available there, through amazon.com and in finer western and tack stores.
