Samuel was a son of James E. Fugate and Joanna Neal. He was born 12 Aug. 1837 in Fayette Co., VA (now WV) and died 20 Sept. 1929. He is buried in Southwest City, MO.
James E. Fugate was b. 1811 in VA - probably Wythe Co. Evidence indicates he was son of Francis Caledonia ("Dony"). James' death record names his parents as "F. D."
Francis was the oldest son of Randolph Fugate (d. 1814 Wythe Co.) and Charity.
Randolph was son of Randolph Fugate and Maryan Deelwood.
Randolph the son of Josias (d. 1757) and Mary of King George Co., VA
