NEW! Fulbright – Fullbright DNA Surname Project

Dear Fulbright/Fullbright Family:

There is now a DNA Surname Project for our family at Family Tree DNA. The project website URL is http://my.att.net/p/PWP-DNAProject/Fulbright-Fullbright.htm . Please visit it to learn more.

The project is brand new and I hope that the males in the various Fulbright / Fullbright lines will participate and help us all find accurate family tree connections now that science is available to help in a way not imagined by those genealogists who came before us! I also hope that the women in this wonderful family will participate by encouraging the men in their Fulbright / Fullbright line to become a part of the project (with everyone following the results).

It’s fast, it’s easy, it’s private, and it’s heavily discounted for those who participate in a Surname Project. And, until Sept. 30th (perhaps longer), there is an ADDITIONAL 50% discount for members of Ancestry.com. I've already ordered a kit for my brother (he and his sons are the last of “my” Fulbright line). Please join us and help grow a more accurate family tree!

N. F. McBee
I am Hester's daughter in law. She passed away a few years back. I can' t seem to recall the date. I took care of her for 2 years and grew to love her more than I had expected. She was a very strong woman. She became precious to me.
She waited for me to be with her before she crossed over. We all loved her and miss her very much. I am married to Russell and we have 3 daughters. You can e-mail me at jan_bridges @yahoo.com if you would like to know more or have questions.
Jan Bridges

Eugene Lafayette was born as you may already know to Walter T. Fullbright and Nannie Matilda
Stewart. Nannie is my Grandmother from when she married Gordon Simpson Burghart. They had one
daughter which was my mother Brownita Matilda BUrghart.
Uncle Gene had a first wife by the name of Cecile Carmen Colbaugh ,she died of Cancer if i remember
right have to find the newspaper clipping on that .

There was :Elzora Fullbright
Eugene L.Fullbright
James Walter Fullbright (Uncle J.W. as i called him)
William Timothy Fullbright( Uncle Bill, had the family
nickname of Cupie mom said because
of his good looks)

And Bertie Fullbright.

I have Nannies parents as J.M Stewart and Matilda Webb. And I got that
from an article in Nannies Bible when Matilda passed away .Born Aug 23, 1866.
Died Jun 3 1912.

I have been trying to go through Grandma Nannie's Bible and try and preserve the
newspaper clippings she had stuck in there over the years. I do have some pictures
which im tryin to get scanned and put on disk , there so old im afraid that if i dont
there going to be lost. I do have something that Nannie crocheted or tatted one,
it is a star with a house in the middle of the star and the other symbols i cant quite make
out .Have to find the picture of her standing on the porch with it hanging on the door
it may help figure those out. I have also lace that she made, She loved to do tatting.

Paul , I'll be very happy to share with you the information that i have and any Fullbright
pics that i have. I have one of the Wickett House down in Akins. One of Grandma Nannie and
Walters head stone. Pictures of the Fullbright boys when they were young. Any questions, just
ask I'll try and help. Any dates you need ill be happy to
look and see if i have . - lori

As the FFA President. I invite you to attend the 2004 FFA Annual Meeting in Allentown, Pennsylvania, June 25-27. We have a full Program prepared and know that this event will add depth to your research, as well as pleasure, when visiting the area where our Volbrecht ancestors first settled.

At this meeting, we can follow the steps of our ancestors through Egypt/Nazareth/Bethelhem visiting the churches in which they worshiped and the towns they helped to create.

Our Banquet Speakers are Susan Dreydopple, Executive Director, Moravian Historical Society and John Molomij, Executive Director, Lehigh Valley Historical Society. Our Car Caravan will be led by Ellen Inghrim, a descendant of Johann Wilhelm Volbrecht and a Volunteer with the Northampton County Historical Society.

Come and take a northeastern vacation where your history started and the Nation's history continues. Remember, you're only an hour or two away from Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Baltimore and Annapolis. Bring your children and grandchildren to enrich their lives and to offer them fun and entertaining opportunities.

Hi Patrick,
Sorry I can't help you as I'm just getting into this side of my family, but on rootsweb.com there is a database for the Fullbrights.Check it out and see what you can find out. Also you might email Paul Fullbright at p.fullbright@mail.utexas.edu, he might be able to answer your question. Would be interested in knowing if we are kin.
Good luck.
Phyllis Williams
