I am great granddaughter of Edwin Fullmer. Edwin was a brother to Olive Amanda Jr. I would be absolutely thrilled if I could get a copy of the history she wrote. would be willing to give any info I have. Edwin went to southern Alberta with his family in the early 1900's. I am having a hard time finding the names of all off John S and Olive Amanda's children. Would you have it? I can be reached at 403-545-6481 in Bow Island, AB. I hope to hear from you
Lani Jassman

Desdemona was sealed to Joseph Smith. The other two marriages were for time only. I have in our family history that John S, after leaving Joseph Smith in Carthage, went to talk to the governor, and was planning on getting witnesses for the upcoming trial, but that he and his younger brother felt unsettled and stayed in Carthage and were outside witnesses to the martyrdom. Other sources say he was on his way to Nauvoo. I know that John S was a neighbour and close friend of Joseph. (He was baptized by Joseph) My great grandfather (Edwin- his son) said that his father could not speak about the prophet Joseph and Hyrum without tears coursing down his face. He loved him with a fierce and abiding love. His missionary journal shows that he eloquently and forcefully testified of the Prophet Joseph Smith over and over again. He even wrote a pamphlet on the martyrdom of the Smith brothers and it was used as a missionary tool in England. You can tell he had a sharp legal mind (He studied a course of law while working at the newspaper in Nashville Tenn.)It is very evident in his writings- both pamphlet and missionary journal.

Clara Fullmer Bullock wrote a history of her father (Edwin) and some on her grandfather John S. Her family can be found in southern alberta, especially Raymond or Welling. Also check Wikipedia- I believe it gives some sources. You can download John S writings when he was in England on his mission in 1853. His missionary journal can be found on the special documents floor ( it used to be the 4th floor when I went to BYU in the early eighties) Try calling Iris Fullmer Chipman in Raymond, Alberta. She is our family historian and could give you more help.

I am great granddaughter of Edwin Fullmer who moved to Canada at the turn of the century. Edwin was John S Fullmer's son, his mother was Amanda Olive Smith. There is an entire branch of the family in Alberta. We would very much like to know what happened to the watch and sword given to John S by the prophet Joseph Smith. Clara Fullmer Bullock (daughter of Edwin) wrote up much of the history of her father and of her grandfather. Her family is still in southern Alberta. Iris Fullmer Chipman lives in Raymond, Ab and is our family historian. She would appreciate any information about the sword and watch and any other history family might have.
Lani Duce Jassman(my mother is Wealtha Fullmer d. of Melvin Fullmer and Alice Hartley, son of Edwin Fullmer

Daniel then Elijah FULLMER m. Hannah KINGSBURY in PA

Seeking information on Daniel FULLMER, b. abt. 1812, Elijah FULLMER, b. abt. 1813, and Dr. John W. FULLMER, b. abt. 1822. Lived in Columbia and Luzerne counties, PA.

Last name spelled variously as Fullmer, Fulmer, Follmer, Fulmore, Vollmer, etc.; use of FULLMER spelling here is based on preferred spelling of later generations.

Daniel FULLMER m. Hannah KINGSBURY by 1840 and they had 3 children (see below). Daniel died 1845 at the age of 33, and Hannah remarried to Elijah 18 Jan 1849. Elijah had 2 daughters by a previous marriage, but he and Hannah did not have any children together.

Hannah KINGSBURY, b. 1 July 1820, was the oldest daughter of Henry and Amanda (CULVER) KINGBURY. Hannah's younger sister, Mary, b. 1826, m. a Dr. John W. FULLMER. Mary d. 1856, and the next younger KINGSBURY sister, Nancy, b. 1828, then m. Dr. John W. FULLMER and had several children. The John W. FULLMER family moved to Iowa abt. 1879.

What is the relationship between Daniel, Elijah and John W. FULLMER? Who were their parents?

Children of Daniel and Hannah (Kingsbury) FULLMER:
1) Mianda M, b. Jan 1840, m. Henry ROBBINS
2) Clinton, b. abt 1842, d. Andersonville Prison, Millen, GA, Nov 1864
3) Asher Kingsbury, b. 22 Aug 1844, m. Florence KITCHEN (my 2g-grandparents)

Children of Elijah FULLMER m. ???:
1) Mary Jane FULLMER, b. abt. 1837
2) Susannah FULLMER, b. abt. 1839, m. Daniel W. GREEN(E)

Elijah FULLMER died 6 Jan 1880, and Hannah was again left a widow. On 26 June 1880, Hannah (KINGSBURY) FULLMER filed for a Civil War Mother's Pension, for compensation due to the death of her son, Clinton Winfield Scott FULLMER who died of scurvy or starvation as a prisoner of war at Andersonville Prison, in Millen, GA on 15 Nov 1864. He had been captured 23 May 1864 at North Anna River in Virginia. The claim was that he had helped support his mother, so his death resulted in a loss of income for her.

Included in Clinton W S FULLMER's Pension File are several letters Clinton wrote home while in the service, prior to his capture, and depositions by neighbors and family members. His letters were mostly addressed to his older sister, Mianda, and he enclosed money for Mianda and their younger brother, Asher, and also money for Mianda to give to their mother (Hannah). The letters and other witness statements clarify several relationships.

In particular, Susannah (Fullmer) GREEN provides the following deposition:

Dated 7 June 1890
Unityville, Lycoming, PA

Deponent: Susanna Green

I am 51 years of age. Housekeeper. PO as above (Unityville, PA).
I am the youngest daughter of the late Elijah Fullmer who died 1880. My father married Mrs. Hannah Fullmer in 1849. My father had two children, both girls, Mary Jane Fullmer and myself. My stepmother had three children by her first husband, Daniel Fullmer. Their names were Mianda, Clinton Winfield Scott Fullmer who died in the army, and Asher Kingsbury Fullmer. Clinton W.S. Fullmer is an own son of Mrs. Hannah Fullmer. She is now drawing a pension on account of his death or was the last I knew. This is my stepmother but I am not interested in the claim.

Signed: Susannah Fullmer

Children of Susannah FULLMER and Daniel W GREEN(E):
William H, b. abt 1861, Hannah J, b. abt 1867, Harry E, b. abt 1869, Elijah H, b. abt 1871, and John W, b. abt 1875.

Mary Jane was b. 1837. What happened to her?
In 1880, there is a 6 year old girl, Caroline LABOUR, living with the widow Hannah FULLMER, identified as her granddaughter. Could Caroline be Mary Jane's daughter?

Interested in hearing from anyone with information on the above families.
Hello, My name is Chad Fullmer. I'm 41 and am formally from Grand Forks, ND. I don't know if you've received info regarding the question below. (since it was posted in 2004) My Grand Farthers name was Otis Fullmer. He was born in Sawyer N.D. (Ward County) His leagal name was Glen Otis Fullmer. But his mother Mabel insisted on calling him Otis. He died in Aug 1983. I believe I've met both Ardis and Dorothy when I was young. I too am trying to find out info on My Grand Father Otis's side. It is hard because it's my understanding his father (Fred) died when Otis was young. I recall his mother remarried a man named Nephew. Any info would also help me too.

Hello spooky bear,

If Ardis was your grandmother, then your grandfather must have been Alvin Lesteberg, the son of Thea and Gilbert Lesteberg. They were both born in Minnesota - Thea in Kandiyohi County and Gilbert in Swift County. Thea's father was my great-great grandfather's brother and I do have all that information at home, but am writing this from work right now. The Lesteberg family comes from Krosherad in Buskerud in Sigdal in Norway.

The Norwegians have cross-Atlantic genealogy groups called "lag" and the Sigdalslag published a book a few years ago that contains a lot of information about your Lesteberg family.

Hi Brady,
I just finished updating the Ancestry World Tree here on ancestry.com. It takes a day or 2 to update. I'll send the address to you when it does since I've added more information on the Kolleckers and others you may be interested in.
FYI: I also sent for Theodore's death certificate with cause and will share that with you when it arrives snail mail. I have his SS app if you would like a copy? I can either email it to you or snail mail. I'm having a tough time reading the handwirting on this SS app especially regarding his mother's last name? Any idea what it is?
Nan

While on medical leave, he met the love of his life and married "the most beautiful girl in Logan", Marie Holjeson, on November 10, 1944. After being discharged from the Army, Lamar worked many years for Ezra C. Lundall Manufacturing and later The Hesston Corporation. Upon his retirement, he became very active within the local Elks Lodge and was selected for many leadership positions in both the Logan Lodge and the State Lodge Organizations.

Rebecca Jane Fullmer Martell 1929 ~ 2008 Rebecca Jane Fullmer Martell faded from her physical presence on January 30, 2008. She was born on March 3, 1929 in Mapleton, Utah to Clifford and Rebecca McKell Fullmer. She was the proud sister of Betty (Sam) Judd, LaVern Bunnell, Gerri (Max) Adams, Sam (Denise) Fullmer, and Rod (Judy) Fullmer. She will be remembered with pride and love by her children: Karen LaFlamme, Cliff (Sandra) Martell, and Victor (Carolyn) Martell. While she was with us, she was full of joy, vitality and a love of family. She had a passion for the outdoors and for trying new things. She was always ready for any new adventure. Her greatest love was her husband of 57 years, Warren H. Martell, and she became a shadow of herself when he passed away. We know she is whole again, now they are together. Jane took profound pride and happiness in her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren, siblings and her many nieces and nephews. She provided many a holiday feast with a welcoming smile and an overflowing plate for all who came by. Our lives were made richer by her love and loyalty. Remembrances and condolences will be shared on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville. Family prayer will be offered 20 minutes prior. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
LaVern McKell Fullmer Bunnell 1931-2007

LaVern McKell Fullmer Bunnell 1931 ~ 2007 ST. GEORGE - LaVern McKell Fullmer Bunnell, returned to her Heavenly Father January 4, 2008 after a valiant struggle to recover from surgery. The final weeks of LaVern's life were spent at the home of her daughter, Teresa, in Huntington, Utah, surrounded by family who were blessed to enjoy Mother's keen wit and infectious laugh until her return to her heavenly father. LaVern was born May 25, 1931 in Mapleton, Utah to Clifford and Rebecca Fullmer. She married Dell Bunnell, and they later divorced. Mother devoted her entire life to serving others, including her husband, children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Though she suffered and endured many trials in her life she bore them all silently and never allowed those trials to diminish the smile on her face, the laughter in her voice or the love in her heart. Love radiated in everything she did and she was always trying to feed those she thought might be hungry as she looked for ways to ease their burdens, never thinking of herself. She had a special relationship with her children and had a profound influence over them. Her life was an example of charity and love and she will always be remembered for the countless acts of kindness she showered upon all who were blessed to know her. A life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, LaVern was drawn to and found peace in the gentle rhythm of the ocean. She worked in a variety of jobs throughout her long life but her favorite was at the South Gate Golf Course in St. George where she was well loved and sorely missed when she retired. She will be missed for her cheerful spirit, love, laughter and smile and her family will strive to forever live by the example of selfless caring that is a testament to her life. She is survived by her children Betty (Doug McHenrey), Tahatchape, CA; Randy Bunnell, Mesquite, NV; Becky Pigott, Las Vegas; Teresea (Wayne) Nielson, Huntington, UT; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Jane Martell, Provo, UT; Gerri (Max) Adams, Salt Lake City, UT; brothers, Rod (Judy) Fullmer, American Fork, UT; Sam (Denise) Fullmer, Mapleton, UT. She was preceded in death by her sons Tom Bunnell and Greg Bunnell and grandsons James Nielson and Tracy Bunnell. At Mother's request, there will be no viewing. There will be a special graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah; 1997 South 400 East, on Tuesday, January 8 at 1 p.m., where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved sons. The family expresses their love and appreciation for all who have touched Mom's life in some special way. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
Published in the Salt Lake Tribune from 1/6/2008 - 1/7/2008.
