Hi! My Grandfather was John Fulton, born in Paisley 1896-1976 in Buffalo, NY. His father was John Fulton 1854-1914,married Mary Laughlin (the spelling of her last name varies a bit- her brothers spelled it differently). He was the son of David Fulton, who was a Paisley shawl weaver, and he was married to Janet Bowes. He was a son of a John 1789-1862 - he was married to an Elizabeth Auld.... There is a family tradition of naming sons David and John, after a brother, or Gfather- so the oldest son of John was named David and the next son was named David...So far my research has turned up a zillion John and David Fultons... My Gfather said that if you threw a stone in the air, in the area of Paisley were he was raised... the stone would surely fall to earth and hit a Fulton... Anyway, it seems we have some common relatives???? I think...What's your opinion? Take Care, Gail
