Mrs. Furr, age 90, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Furr was born August 29, 1918, in Charlotte, NC, to Floyd Herman and Isla Mae Mullis. She was a graduate of Oakhurst High School, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Sharon Amity Rd. in Charlotte. Her husband, Henry Sloan Furr and son, Richard Ray preceded her in death. She is survived by 5 children: Bryan of Charlotte, NC, John and wife, Donna of Charlotte, Brenda Watson and husband, Stan of Dunedin, FL, Sandee Furr of Dunedin, and Tammy Coyle and husband, Pete of Tarpon Springs, FL, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Hospice Foundation of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760, or to Wildflower Inn, 639 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin, FL 34698.
