We have just got back from a week in Scotland and I managed to badger the family to visit St. Monans. It looks very much as I had imagined it and the church is in a fantastic setting.

I was thrilled to find the memorial for my ggggrandfather Thomas (1811-1885) m. Elspeth Peattie and was stunned how relatively few family names there were and how they all ended up intermarrying (Peatties, Hutts, Davidsons, etc).

The 'visitor' centre was open and the old photos displayed mentioned many of the same names.

Anyway, it's well worth a visit if you're not from the area.

Tracy
