Thanks for everyone's research on this. My Gaba ancester is great-grandfather Charles (don't know middle initial), the son of Isaac R. & Nancy Patton. According to Dave Gaba's research, Isaac R. is the brother of his great-grandfater Joseph (Joseph would be great-grandfather to another gaba who has posted to this board-- a modern Joseph, whose grandfather is william robert) isaac r. is also the brother of Johh w. gaba, the father of isaac m., Rebecca Shaeffer's ancestor.

So in one night I found three people I am related too, albeit remotely... Thanks SO MUCH everyone, I never knew anything past the name isaac r. on this side of my family. we thought he came from romania, but obviously the family has been in the states much longer and was swiss.
