Lewis Gabert Family Bible in Thrift Store

I was in a thrift store in Allentown, PA today and there is a family Bible with Lewis Gabert's marriages, children's births and deaths. The bible was published around 1900. It's about 6" thick and about 10" X 14" (I didn't measure! -- just guessing)

I copied some of the information:
Lewis Gabert and Margaret Brannan were married May 13, 1899. Margaret was born July 4, 1864 and died Feb 6, 1920.

Lewis had married Arpha S. Noble on Mar 26, 1887. Arpha was born Jan. 30, 1967 and died Aug 7, 1896.

Rusell L. Gabert was born Jan 4, 1888 and married Elizabeth Miller on Sep 2, 1914.

There were other family members with births, marriages and deaths, but I did not copy everything.

The thrift shop has the bible priced at $46 + tax.

Is anyone interested?

Sebastian and Catherine Ebert Gabert were my gg grandparents. I have been trying to confirm their birthplace for a couple of years. I have been told Baden Baden, Rheinish Bavaria and Koningsbach. All documents pertaining to them here in the U.S. just list Germany. Maybe we could compare notes. I also have Athertons and Groves on my tree. Thanks.

This James Gabert was born in Huntingdon Co., PA. There were some PA. Gaberts who moved to the midwest. But James Lane Gabert stayed in PA. and raised his family. His father Sebastian also stayed in PA. Will try to find out which family moved westward and let you know.

I took notice in my research that there is also a Gabert line that is French descended.

It was good to hear from you. I have been communicating also with the other Sue, also.
This summer I traveled around to 30 different cemetaries in Huntingdon and Mifflin County with my parents. One of them that we visited was Gilboa. Anna Mary Atherton is buried there in the middle of the cemetary near the top of the hill.
My mother said that William had been kicked in the head with a horse and somehow ended up in a hospital (or institution) in Harrisburg. He apparently died there, since our side of the family has not knowledge of his gravesite. My mother remembers her grandmother very well, but has no other knowledge of William.
One of these days I will sit down and send both you and Sue what I found this summer. Keep in touch. Happy Hunting! Sue

I'm so sorry. I had you confused with another Sue who is a descendant of Jacob Gabert. My great aunt has told me that William and Anna Mary Gabert Atherton are buried in Gilboa Cemetery outside of Shirleysburg in Huntingdon Co. Do you know if that is true? We hope to go to Huntingdon Co. this weekend and walk a couple of cemeteries.

My great grandfather was James Lane Gabert. Let me know what kind of documentation you are interested in. I may be able to help.

I just started working on this in July so I don't have alot yet.

Thanks
Gloria

My Eberts are in Wisconsin and don't know when or where they came through on their way from Germany. I only know that they were born there.
